There were several vacant restaurants, and less activity than I would have expected in the places that are open. I suspect the place is HOPPING in warmer weather.

Plenty of bars and restaurants to pick from and open until 4am. They get some pretty good acts to come in and put on live shows. It's a must if you're visiting the area.

We spent New Year's Eve at Fourth Street Live. There was live music and a ball drop at midnight, I've been down here before in the summer time for free concerts and also a bachelorette party. Lots of restaurants and bars in walking distance from downtown hotels.

There might be something good at Fourth Street Live!, but I didn't experience it. It seemed to be an inauthentic Louisville Experience and full of the kind of people I don't enjoy hanging out with. It was walking distance from some great establishments, so if you're in that area, you probably have better options unless you're a 22 yr old... More

It's your typical cookie cutter bar district. several chains intermixed with local places and shops set inside old buildings. The street is cut off to vehicles mostly. There is a stage in the middle of the street, Several whiskey themed places. Went to both the chains and local places, not much happening either place. Probably kicks up if there is... More

Be prepared to show your id at night. You must be 21 to be admitted to this piece of 4th street with a concentration of pubs, bars and other alcoholic dealers! Live outside entertainments stop at 7pm.

Couples, families, business travellers can all find something to do. From excellent restaurants, bowling alley to dueling piano bar and of course lots of choices of Kentucky Nectar (Bourbon)

We walked down from our hotel and hit the jackpot! This place was hopping! There was live outside entertainment. Big warming heaters. Entertainment in some bars, too. The streets are closed so it is safe for foot traffic. We have enjoyed this area in the summer. Didn't expect to enjoy it just as much in the winter!

This place rocks. Literally. All kinds of restaurants and bars - something for everybody, but really not as great for kids. Get a sitter and enjoy a night of dining and dancing. Music everywhere. Can get a little pricey. Feels safe, with lots of security.
