Love the Candlelight Tours they do each year, the décor is nice and everyone is so friendly. It is also nice to go through the self-guided tour at your own pace. This compound is huge and has a lot of history, as the oldest distillery in the world that is still in operation. Be sure to buy something to wax... More

My family and I have the tradition of visiting Maker's Mark on Thanksgiving whenever we spend the holiday in Kentucky. Maker's Mark is quant with a great tour, gift shop and some recent upgrades that help the whole experience. I love the Christmas decorations and the tasting at the end of the tour. Highly recommended.

Be sure to make Maker's Mark a stop on your Bourbon Trail adventure! Beautiful facility. great people and great bourbon tasting! (Make a reservation, especially if you're a large group, and allow 2 hours total for required tour and tasting.)

Maker's Mark Distillery Tour is a great tour even if you don't drink bourbon. But if you do, you're in for a treat. The grounds are picture book perfect. Our guide, Thomas, seemed to know absolutely everything there was to know about Maker's history and how they make it. The tour is not wheelchair friendly, there is a bit of... More

We completed 9 tours in 3 days ~ crazy, but lots of fun! Maker's Mark was clearly in our top 3 distillery tours. Not only do they have some of the smoothest bourbon you can taste and drink, their tour is very informative and fun. It's not often you get to stick your finger in the yeast ~ or get... More

The grounds here are right out of a Christmas greeting card. So picturesque and quaint. The tour was very informative, with a nice dash of humor here and there. Tasting was educational but a little hurried. They offered a complimentary bourbon chocolate truffle at the conclusion, which was not only delicious but a nice surprise. Loved visiting the cellars in... More

Makers Mark is known as one of the best on the Trail and that's probably largely to do with how gorgeous the scenery is around the estate. It's a good tour too but very popular. This was the only distillery we visited that felt crowded and we were there off-season. Recommend planning ahead and allowing extra time in case you... More

If you like bourbon, you probably wonder, what makes the difference. Water, location, weather, barrel choice, time all are factors in the hundreds of flavors and textures of bourbon. However, Maker's Mark has a real variable that changes the game altogether. Why so smooth? Why the distinct sweetness and corresponding lack of bitterness? Why the difference from your average bourbon?... More

So the first thing to know, is that if you turn down a road that looks like s driveway, you are going the right way. This is really in the backwoods and what a beautiful fall drive. Once you get there, the tour is fun and informative. We had such an interactive tour guide. The tasting at the end was... More

Maker's Mark is probably one of the top tours in my opinion. The history behind the distillery and the beautiful grounds make it easy to relax and enjoy the area. I enjoyed seeing the older wooden fermenting tubs and our tour guide was very knowledgeable. My favorite part was getting to dip my own bottle. What a unique experience.
