The atmosphere is one of the best on the bourbon trail. It was awsome to see how one of the best bourbons in the world is made. The process is very old school and simple. The gift shop was very cool you can dip your own bottle but the gift shop is on the expensive.

The drive down to Loretto with a stop to see the Sisters of Loretto Mother House on the way was lovely itself, and then when you arrive at Maker's Mark, you greeted by beautiful gardens and grounds. The tour was good, but since the processing area was shut down, it wasn't that interesting. The tour guide was enthusiastic but scripted.... More

This distillery was 1 of 4 we visited along the Whiskey Trail, and it was the most beautiful site of the 4! The ground are large and all of the buildings are painted black with red shutters that have the shape of the Makers Mark bottle in them. The buildings and the grounds were beautiful, and we spent a lot... More

We traveled through Kentucky on the Bourbon trail and Makers Mark was one of the better tours. This walking tour brings you up close to the distilling process. Lee our guide was very informative. At the end of the tour you get to sample...great way to end on a happy note

We intended to do the whole Kentucky Bourbon Trail but were disappointed most close around 4 pm-also disappointed we could not just purchase tasting but had to do the tours to do tasting. Anyway, we did the Maker's Mark tour-fantastic learning experience. Our guide, Charles, was very informative. The number of storage buildings for the bourbon as you come into... More

We were here to visit the distillery but unfortunately they are closed for distilling in August but we were still allowed to your the property. It is a beautiful place and the guy in charge of the tour was very knowledgeable. Every time we go there we learn something new. The tour guy is also a taster so he taught... More

We enjoyed revisiting Maker's Mark. As Ambassadors it was time to pick up our Maker's Mark bottle from the barrel that was selected 7 years ago. Our visit and tour then was informative and enjoyable. At the end of the tour, we dipped our bottle into the red wax vat and it made it official. We definitely recommend your signing... More

The Maker's Mark facility is beautiful. The structures are scattered about immaculate grounds. The tour was very interesting and well worth it. Don't miss out on dipping your own bottle in the red wax - of course will you ever want to break ThaT seal? If you are in Bardstown, this is a must visit. Take the time, travel the... More

Makers Mark is a beautiful campus in Loretto, KY. You owe it to yourself to go visit even if you're not a bourbon drinker. You'll live the lush green, the beautiful buildings withe the red shutters (with the bottle profile cut out😉), and the friendly people. Great trip!

We went on one of the History tours. Our guide was non other than Rob Samuels, a direct descendant! He gave a wonderful tour and was very personable, even let us have our picture taken with him. My husband is a Maker's Mark Ambassador and so we bought bottles from the barrel with his name on it. Mr. Samuels signed... More
