Great place for toddlers

It is a very well thought out facility for young kids. There is plenty to do for hours. The staff is friendly and courteous. The place could be a little better maintained as... read more

I've enjoyed the Explorium since I was a child. I took my two boys there yesterday and they had a blast but I was really disappointed in the condition of a lot of the exhibits. Some of the things I wouldn't let them touch because they are FILTHY. The water in the water table is brown, the water in the... More

We came here last year and it wasn't in great shape then. My daughter insisted on coming again and lasted a total of 30 minutes. It needs to be shut down, cleaned up, repainted and restock all areas. It is really run down. Scheduling is a must-there were 3 different bus loads of kids last Friday when we visited. One... More

It is a very well thought out facility for young kids. There is plenty to do for hours. The staff is friendly and courteous. The place could be a little better maintained as some things were not working. But, its one of the best places for young kids in the city for sure.

This place is great and has lots of fun activities! We went with 2 & 3 year olds and they had a blast!!! Price at $8 per person for s good too!!! There's loads to keep them entertained and occupied and after almost 3 hours we had to drag them out.!!!!! Favourites were the bubble room, water fountain and the... More

My son loves this place a lot but we never last very long. Today we spent about an hour playing and then we were both done. Some of the exhibits have been there since before he was born and they are in bad condition. Even the newer ones are quickly destroyed. Hardly any of the computer things were working see... More

Went here on a Saturday morning with my three year old and a friend and her eleven year old. Both kids had lots of fun. This place really encourages play. Watch out for the other kids though. You might want to go on a different day. A rainy Saturday was too busy.

We took four of our grandchildren ( 2-7 years old). The "gift shop" is located in the same spot where tickets are purchased. This makes for a crowded area with children runnung back and forth through the lines for purchasing both souveniors and tickets for admission. There needs to be a staff member in each area to explain the activities... More

My family and I went here to explore downtown Lexington and take my 3 year old niece somewhere fun. Needless to say she had a blast. I enjoyed that where so many different rooms to explore. It wasn't that busy while we were there so we weren't rushed to explore exhibits. Some areas were in need of repair but children... More

Compared to other cities it is pretty lack luster, but kids always seem to have fun. Exhibits for toddlers always seem grimy which is expected but some things seem a bit dated. Could update a couple new exhibits.

I have to be completely honest. We've been to a lot of children's museums and this one was probably one of the worst. It does have a horse or two to make it unique to Kentucky, but the water table didn't even have water in all of it, and portions of the exhibits were missing things or not cleaned up.... More
