Great science museum with lots of hands on exibits. Better for children age 4-10. Keep your eyes on them as there is much to be distracted by. A real nightmare when large groups are visiting. They allow 4-5 groups of daycare and school children in at a time in the AM on weekdays.

If this children museum desires to impact young peoples lives and cognitive development they need to work with partners to update rundown exhibits and add new exhibits.

Lots to do and see. There is science, art, cultural experiences for all ages. I love to go with or without my kids...who started going to the Explorium almost 20 years ago :)

We had guest visiting from out of town and thought this would be a great place to take their 7 year old son. Upon our arrival we were never greeted or told to have a good time or given any directions about the Explorium. There were so many of the stations that were not operating properly, the puppets for the... More

Me and my family visited the Explorium in Lexington, KY at Victorian Square in September 2016. I was very disappointed in this visit. This is our 3rd time at this facility. There were many exhibits that did not work. The Bubble Room had no working bubbles, the exhibit at the entrance with the water showing how erosion happens, was almost... More

We took our 2 year old grandson as part of his birthday. He had a great time. Liked milking the cow. The bank vault . The 2-3 year old play area and the bubble room. Other reviews have mentioned the cleanliness but as it could be with the amount of people that visit. Water was clear in river and in... More

My daughter and nephew had a blast here! I hadn't been since I was a child, and unfortunately, there were still several things from my childhood and they weren't very clean. However, there were some new things, and the kids loved it! Great interactive stations and sensory learning.

We spent 2 hours (Mom and 11, 8 and 2 yr. sons). The older two loved exploring and helping their young brother. They also enjoyed exhibits like the rock wall, horses and the water table dam area. We had a few hours to spend in Lexington while we waited for older brothers and this was a fun way to pass... More

I've enjoyed the Explorium since I was a child. I took my two boys there yesterday and they had a blast but I was really disappointed in the condition of a lot of the exhibits. Some of the things I wouldn't let them touch because they are FILTHY. The water in the water table is brown, the water in the... More

We came here last year and it wasn't in great shape then. My daughter insisted on coming again and lasted a total of 30 minutes. It needs to be shut down, cleaned up, repainted and restock all areas. It is really run down. Scheduling is a must-there were 3 different bus loads of kids last Friday when we visited. One... More
