Coming to Lexington soon? There are three ways to see this very beautiful part of the world:

1. Do it yourself with maps, perhaps a GPS, and a lot of patience.

2. Take a public tour and join 15-20 fellow visitors on a pre-planned tour of the area.

3. Take a private tour, planned by you and your guide, based on YOUR interests. You'll tour in the comfort of YOUR OWN VEHICLE. Your guide can drive so you can soak up the scenery, but that's entirely up to you.

If #3 sounds good to you, that's where we can help. Our tours range from as little as 4 hours, to a full day, or more - depending on your interests and budget. Start your planning early. That gives us time to learn about you and your interests and create a proposal for you. You're coming to one of the most beautiful and interesting places you've ever been!

Started at Keeneland for breakfast at the Track Kitchen. Awesome home cooking at a really unreal low price. Loved it. John Midbo was prompt to our hotel, what a nice gentleman. Great knowledge of the area and the horse industry. Followed breakfast with some time watching the beautiful horses work out from upfront on the rail. We are planning to... More

We found John through the Visit Lexington website. We considered a number of tours - all with good reviews but decided against one of the bus tours as we thought we would enjoy a private tour more. From a cost standpoint, the private tour is actually a better value for families. John met us at our hotel and took us... More

We spent five days in Lexington and the morning we spent with John was the highlight! We have never hired a private tour guide in the past. I am so glad we did. He is so knowledgeable about the area and its rich history. He also provided great recommendations for restaurants and other things to do while we were there.... More

John met us at our B&B and we headed off on a fact filled tour of Bourbon and Horse Country, including a great tour of Keeneland (hitting some off the beaten path areas and information) and Clairborne Farm. A lot of history and current information of the horse farm owners was shared. While Clairborne Farm does not have the grandest... More

We did a tour with John and he was absolutely awesome! First we went to Keeneland to watch the morning works and that was great to see and then we did a tour at Claiborne and that was perfect! John was super knowledgeable about so much in Kentucky- not just the horses but the lay of the land. We were... More

John with Lexington Private Tours is excellent. His enthusiasm for and knowledge of Lexington is incredible. He is passionate about the horses, Keeneland and the horse farm business. We took a tour of Claiborne Farm and it too was excellent. John takes the time to take photos and emails them to you. It was an awesome experience from start to... More

We arranged to have John Midbo as our tour guide for one morning of our trip to Lexington. We had a wonderful time! He met us at our hotel and drove our car to Keeneland and to Claiborne Farm. At Keeneland we had breakfast in the cafeteria for track staff, then John guided us around the track. We saw horses... More

John Midbo toured us in the horse country - his tour was far more than we expected. He not only was well versed on horse events, details and farms but was known by the people in the areas we visited. He directed us from place to place on roads that provided us with tremendous sites and he was able to... More
