This historic mansion shows the difficulty in preserving and restoring buildings which have been changed through the years. The mansion was designed by a famous architect and once a showpiece. Only the shell is what it once was remains due to intervening years and fires. However that said, it is open on rare occasions and a tour gives a good idea to those interested in preservation about the structure.

Tucked into a residential area was this gem of house that had been "renovated" beyond recognition. Inside was a treasure of a house designed by the same man who did the U.S. Capitol in D.C. Wonderful restoration in process!
