Nice Walk Next to U of K Campus

Very nice paved walking trails thru park like settings, most is open so probably better in evening during the hot summer months.

The Arboretum is a wonderful place to take a nature walk near downtown Lexington. It features a nice variety of plants, many of which are labeled and/or described. Admission to the Arboretum is free and so is parking. I would recommend visiting for a couple of hours to walk around the Arboretum and look at things. But persons can make... More

Native plants, some informational bits, some sculptures. Mostly it is a chance to walk in green and forest space only a mile or two from downtown. Trails are not strenuous. Rest facilities only at the visitor's center, so plan accordingly. Closes around dark. Try not to trip over the newest hazard: Pokemon Go players. And to you Poke-munchkins: Remember, it... More

So has the signage telling about the various native Ky plant species on display. It is particularly beautiful in the Spring. If you want a nice friendly atmosphere to take a walk... More

This is a free local attraction. It was clear that many locals take advantage of the walking, jogging trails. It is a smaller arboretum, but pretty none-the-less. The flowers were in bloom and there is a new fresh rose garden planting that will be pretty. We even got a look at a little bunny in the vegetable garden. The paths... More

Had a lovely day for walking around and seeing all the different areas of the UK campus area. Love the water features and the roses. Kid and pet friendly

The Arboretum is a great place for a stroll through nature. It's a free, quiet, beautiful and educational oasis tucked in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the University of Kentucky.
