Growing up in Lexington, the temptation to take a trip to Keeneland as an ordinary day at the races, never happens. Every time you visit you. Are struck by the beauty and unique atmosphere that abounds at Keeneland. The stonework arches, the large trees and...More

Keeneland is a wonderful experience for all ages year round. Placing beats (even if you don't know what you're doing), ordering signature drinks, and viewing the horses in the winners circle is all an experience. The number one best part about Keeneland? TAILGATING.

Great place to see beautiful horses, people, scenery and gamble on the races. You can watch the horses out back, place your bet, and go out front and watch your horse run. The scenery is absolutely beautiful, food is always delicious, and the horses are...More

We enjoyed our visit very much. We went on a tour and learned so much of the history, the horses and the general area. We would highly recommend it and would go again.

I've been to big tracks and the boutique ones like Saratoga and Del Mar. Keeneland beats them all. It is the cleanest racetrack you have ever seen. There is no one here without a smile. The grounds are gorgeous rain or shine. Even when live...More

A great place to learn about horse racing. They have people that will explain the betting process and guide you through it. It was so much fun!

restaurants/karoke (3 Replies)
coming to Lexington 04/20, four ladies, visiting Keeneland, want good restaurants and/or Karoke bars - safe places

The best place for Karaoke is probably Chinoe Pub on Chinoe Road. They serve food, but it is nothing spectacular. It tends to get crowded on the weekends, so you may to get there a little early if you want to sing. I think there are several other places that do Karaoke, but I haven't been to any others. One that comes to mind is Friends and Company on Lane Allen Rd. I may have the name slightly off, but I think Friends is in the title. There is also Caddyshacks off Boston Rd, and Squires...More

General Admission Keeneland Race Track (2 Replies)
The Phoenix Room and the Equestrian Room were sold out for the dates I was interested in for the Spring meet 2014. I need suggestions on where my husband and I can find a place to sit and eat at Keeneland with general admission. I know we will need to get there early. Will be there April 11 and April 12 which is a Fri and Sat.

If you get there early you can put your name on a wait list for Equestrian Room. Not sure if you can for the Phoenix Room but ask at the front gate. If someone doesn't claim their table by 1:15 they will call you. We've had luck with this.

Keeneland Question for Saturday 4/14 (1 Replies)
Hi, I am considering taking my kids (11&14) to Breakfast with the Works on Saturday 4/14. Upon reading the forum, I see that Saturday is expected to be a very busy day with the running of the Blue Grass Stakes. Will the morning workout sessions & breakfast be crowded too? The event is already sold out in the reserved area, but will the general seating area be extremely crowded too? I had been thinking of possibly staying for a race or two early that afternoon. Would that be possible?...More

If you are there early you should be fine. It will be crowded but will still be a lot of fun. You should have no problem leaving early.
