- DonQuixVirginia Beach, Virginia140 contributionsFour Stars Four RosesWith options to tour/taste at Four Roses Distillery I chose the Taste and Lesson. Grayson did a good job informing us about the production and bourbons available. Ten recipes made a serious impression; I was ready to purchase. Dee, our tour guide, is an incredible ambassador and made the tour very informative while keeping things lively and engaging. The tour did not disappoint!Visited October 2023Traveled with familyWritten October 17, 2023
- GJ214Dallas, Texas16 contributionsHighly recommend!Great tour and tasting experience. Highly recommend. Our tour guide Dee and she was knowledgeable and entertaining. We have visited 3 different distilleries this week and all have been uniquely different and educational. Four Roses is a beautiful facility and all the staff we met was pleasant and helpful.Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 26, 2023
- KH2oson167 contributionsBest distillery tour so far! This tour was excellent! Our guide was friendly and informative. The campus is beautiful. Bourbon tasting was a family favorite. What really set this tour above all the rest? - all the little details that helped my family (with mobility limitations) enjoy the tour! Plenty of available setting at the beginning of the tour and seated tasting was very mimics appreciated. Headsets (to hear the guide) allowed my family to take a slightly slower walking pace without missing any information. Everyone was friendly. Souvenir glass at the end of the tasting was a nice surprise. If you only have time for one tour, this should be the one!Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 17, 2023
- Dawn CChicago, Illinois87 contributionsStopped in for cocktailsWe've been to so many tours that we have just started visiting distilleries and enjoying cocktails or tasting. We visited Four Roses and enjoyed some amazing fall cocktails. The atmosphere in the visitor center is comfortable and classy. Only one frustration was that on a Saturday at noon the bar didn't have the proper garnishes for the drinks. Small but took away something on presentation. The drinks were great anyway!Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 20, 2023
- Hilary N1 contributionHighly Recommend!!I highly recommend this tour. I am not a bourbon drinker but I went with some bourbon drinkers and we had a great time! I even drank the flight samples! Still not a bourbon fan, but do highly recommend this tour! Rachel was a fantastic tour guide!! She was informative and funny and made the experience even better!Visited December 2023Traveled with friendsWritten December 3, 2023
- Case O1 contributionSmooth and BeautifulOur distillery tour guide, Dee, was amazing: informative without going overboard. The campus' (distillery) grounds are nothing short of beautiful and picturesque; early 1900's original Spanish architecture along with the backdrop of the fields and nature was stunning. Maker's Mark's grounds were pretty, but a very distant second to FRB's. The after-tour choice of only purchasing one bottle of private selection out of 10 possible bottlings was tough, and apparently rather unprecedented. Four Roses was the first small batch bourbon I ever had years ago, so it holds are little bit of fondness for me. Couple the smoothness of the bourbon with the beauty of the grounds, and it's absolutely an enjoyable day.Visited December 2023Traveled with familyWritten December 7, 2023
- GregnEllenTravelinNew Albany, Indiana40 contributionsOur first bourbon tour at Four Roses! We had our first trip to Bardstown and decided to take a bourbon tour at Four Roses just a short drive from Bardstown. Katie, our guide, was such a source of information! She let us ask questions along the way and the tasing was fantastic! We strongly recommend the $40 tour, as you get the tasting included. Thanks Katie!Visited January 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten January 4, 2024
- Jenny JHouston, Texas94 contributionsNice tasting at Four RosesWe enjoyed a tasting at Four Roses as part of a tour of multiple distilleries. The tasting was fun, thanks to our hostess, and the bourbon was great. - Paul NBaltimore, Maryland4 contributionsA great tasting.Loved the visitor's center and the tasting. Honestly, I've now been to too many tours and was happy to get to the good stuff!! Our tasting guide was great and explained so much about the product. I truly enjoyed the experience. I bought 3 bottle here. More than at any other stop.Visited January 2024Traveled with friendsWritten January 16, 2024

My husband and I stopped here on our anniversary trip. We did the first tour of the day which was the 9 AM on a Friday. There were only four people total on the tour. Our tour guide was knowledgeable but was really unable to answer some of our questions which is OK but they were pretty standard questions. We thought that maybe it would have been nice to stop and take a couple more pictures and we wondered how they accommodated larger groups when it was hard for just four of us to get pictures and look around. All in all it was a good tour. We were able to taste for all four of their Bourbons at the end of the tour which was nice. The gift shop is a little overpriced but aren’t they all? Would recommend but don’t expect it to be as in-depth as other bourbon tours you might encounter in the area.

Don’t waste you time visiting this distillery. They do make great bourbon. The distillery is closed during the summer, which they don’t tell you when you schedule and pay for your “tour”. The tour lasted 15 minutes. With Buffalo Trace and Woodford so close by, both having amazing tour experiences, really, just don’t bother with this one.

We went to another distillery and it was closed so we went to Four Roses. Learned a few things like who is the owner and that Four Roses was one of six distilleries allowed to continue its product during the Prohibition. They also have a picture of the famous Sailor and the Kiss in Times Square and Four Roses is on the neon billboard of Times Square. That was very cool. Learned about their 10 types of varieties of mashbills.
It was the tasting tour which lasted only 20 minutes, though you got 4 tastings or about $10 each. Keep the glass! I liked it. Fred was good!

We did four distillery tours earlier this week in our four-night getaway to Bardstown from Connecticut, and at this one we enjoyed the old, Spanish-styled buildings and a tour that went into the facility. Our tour guide spoke a little too fast (I forget his name) and the sound system seemed to require me to stay near him to hear him clearly on my headset. I'm a particular fan of their Single Batch so that was my favorite of the tasting.

The mission style gives this distillery a unique look. Our guid Michelle was friendly and informative as we toured and tasted. As mentioned by others, this facility is the distillery itself with bottling and storage at a second location.
If you haven't tried Four Roses - you'll get four tastings, with their "Small Batch" recently added to our every day bourbon list

We did the history and tasting tour. I lasts about 30 minutes and i highly recommend it. Four Roses is an excellent bourbon, this presentation gives you some insight as to the different grades of bourbon, from top shelf sipping to bourbon used for mixing. Jason was our guide and he was both informative and entertaining.

Our tour of the Four Roses distillery was excellent. The detail Four Roses thought of made a big difference. Headphones, so you could hear your guide, no matter how close or far you walked in the group or how noisy it got in the distillery. Our guide, Jason, was awesome, answered all our questions, educated us and explained the entire distilling process in a way that was understandable. Entire tour from start to finish was by far the best we did and we visited four distilleries on this trip.

Beautiful distillery excellent architecture and a great tasting. Parker was a knowledgeable tour guide and did such a great job there were few questions
I’ve done 6-8 tours and found this one exceptionally done. They use head sets making it much easier to hear while on the tour. This is a plus.
The tasting was informative and fun. We bought some special release bourbon before we left. What a deal !

Great stop and I think a gem of the whiskey/ bourbon trail. It’s only 4 different verities, but the story and progression is super interesting and informative. The staff is amazing and informative, they have a passion for their products and it shows. The grounds are great, well taken care of and picture worthy. We only did the tasting, they offer a tour as well, which we would have done had time not been against us..

This was a fantastic tour! The guise was friendly and knowledgeable. They had you put on a headset so you could hear the Tour Guide over the noise. The guide brought you right into where the vats were that housed the various stages of processing. The tour ended with a flight of all four Four Roses Bourbons (Single Barrel is my favorite). This is a quaint, charming location with beautiful Spanish architecture. Highly recommend booking at least 2 weeks in advance!

Is there a deli at this location? Somewhere we can enjoy a lunch?
Written April 28, 2016
No, but we ate at Wallace Station for lunch before our Four Roses tour. It was really good food, wonderful scenery, and is just shy of 30 minutes from Four Roses.
