Less crowded, but need to walk
Nov 2019
This side of the mountain is definitely less crowded, but it takes quite some time to walk. We started the trail but did not finish it.

Commute is a nightmare
Aug 2020 • Family
Roads leading to this site are closed, and parking is a nightmare.
In theory, one could take a train from a earby town (Teplice) but trains were overcworded (middle of the week) and the crew didnt allow anyone in....

Overall, it took us more time to find a parking and get from parking to Teplicke Dkaly - than we spent there...

And yes, rocks are absolutely amazing. But commute and parking are a nightmare!

A BEAUTIFUL walk..
Oct 2019
A gorgeous walk. While not stroller friendly, it is well marked in Czech, Polish, and English. While not free it is very reasonable (cost about as much as a couple of soft drinks). The trail is cobble stone initially, then changes to gravel. In then areas that are eco protected in is raised wooden structured. The entire walk is very relaxing BEAUTIFUL view of nature. You have the option of climbing 300 steps to a birds-eye view on top of the mountain. The view is awesome but not for the faint of heart.

Great place to visit when you like walking
Sep 2019
We were here on a rainy day and had the place for ourselves. There are a couple of sheltered picknick places were we had our lunch or a break. Take care when you visit the 'Castle'. Really lots of steep steps up and down but worth the effort.

Teplice rocks
Aug 2019
Teplice rocks and Adrspach rocks are together the biggest rock city in Europe (I think). You will see big towers, nice cracks, hidden lakes and beautiful nature there. You can climb under the local regulations.

Best sight of our 2 week Czech Republic visit
Apr 2019 • Couples
My wife and I visited Cesky Raj (Bohemian Paradise) and Adrspach-Teplice Rocks, two areas in northern Czech Republic with magnificent rock formations in April, 2019. We enjoyed our visit to these two quiet, scenic areas much more than the crowded, big-bus tourist towns of Prague and Cesky Krumlov. Between the two areas, we prefer Adrspach-Teplice Rocks for its more varied rock formations, fewer visitors, and more remote setting. However, Cesky Raj is much closer to Prague. We rented a car for our visit.

The Teplice Rocks loop hike was our favorite in the Adrspach-Teplice Rocks area. We feel that Teplice Rocks (Teplicke Skaly) was more scenic, less crowded, and more dramatic compared to Adrspach Rocks (Adrspasske Skaly). We hiked the 6 km blue loop trail (about 3 hrs). In early April, we passed no more than 20 other hikers during our hike. There was still snow and ice along one portion of the path. Make sure you climb the 300 step steel staircase to your right up to a high viewpoint (Strmen Castle) 10-15 minutes past the entrance. Portions of the loop trail may be closed due to nesting peregrine falcons during breeding season (April & May). The entrance fee is 100 czk. Parking cost 100 czk.

You can combine the Teplice Rocks loop (6 km) and the Adrspach Rocks loop (4 km) using a connecting trail through the Wolf Gorge (2.5 km), hiking both Adrspach and Teplice in one long day (6+ hrs). Unless you are short on time, we recommend doing Adrspach and Teplice on separate days to give yourself plenty of time to experience this scenic area.

For those coming by car, the GPS coordinates for the Teplice Rocks parking lot is 50.595083, 16.148340. For hotels and restaurants, the small towns of Adrspach and Teplice nad Metuji provide some limited options. We stayed at Pension Ctyrlistek, a family-run hotel in a quiet, scenic area, two minutes drive from Teplice Rocks. We found a good Italian restaurant (Pizzerie Janeba) and a large Penny Market for groceries in the nearby town of Police nad Metuji (15 minute drive).

Wow! Nature’s wonder
Apr 2019 • Family
Totally amazing place. We spent 5.5 hrs walking from one entrance to the other, so many things to see, so many steps. Beautiful and peaceful place. We were there on a cold day in april, can imagine how crowded it must be in summer

Stunning rock formations and beautiful walks
Oct 2018 • Couples
This is a true highlight of the Czech Republic. We were in Praha for a business meeting and took two extra days specifically to come to this park. It was a highlight of our Czech trip. About an hour and a half train ride from Praha it is probably best to spend a night or two in Teplice nad Metuji so that you are not rushed. There is a south entrance just up the road from Teplice nad Metuji with one set of formations and a northern entrance Ardspach. It is worth visiting both entrances as each area has a much different feel. There is a trail that connects both so you can easily start at one end and walk to the other. The north (Ardspach) entrance is much more developed, crowded and has a larger gift shop). Trails are well marked and available for a variety of physical conditions. A true gem of a park! A must see if you are visiting the Czech Republic.

Amazing
Sep 2017 • Couples
We stayed in a pension at the parking lot, so were able to be on the trail at 9am. We had almost the whole experience to ourselves - wandering among the sandstone pillars was quite magical. There are signs pointing out specific rocks with names, which made a fun game of finding the rock features. Only took less than 2 hours - and when we were leaving it was becoming more crowded. The hike is actually easier than the one at Ardspach, which had tour buses and throngs of people hiking to the boat tours. All very dog friendly.

I am a city person and not much for wandering around in nature
Aug 2017 • Family
I was impressed and humbled to see what nature has done for us. No longer as young as I once was, I still enjoyed the views and took the easy path. Kids and their parents were running around willy nilly and I suppose that if I had continued up at the pace of my grandkids I might have something to complain about. I just took things slowly and enjoyed the views.
