We have overnighted traveling across the middle of the East during the past 25 years multiple times at Pleasant HIll. The rooms are simple, in Shaker fashion, large with comfortable beds and satisfactory, though not large, en suite bathrooms. Arrive early or stay later on...More

Village is beautiful and very interesting history of the Shakers. Make sure to go on one of the tours to learn all about the Village and the people who lived there. Grounds are beautiful. Check out the farm animals too!

One of the best weekend places in the midwest. See how the amazing Shakers built a virtually self sufficient community, although men and women could not live together or produce children.

We stayed at the Beaumont Inn in Harrodsburg. There are stairs but also an elevator. About 10/15 minutes away.
