We actually came between candy tours unfortunately but was able to view one room of memorabilia. I have personally been on a tour a number of years before and found it worthwhile. Unfortunately my sister who was with me had not. Still we were able to sample some candy. To be honest the candy can be somewhat pricey but it is good. The bourbon balls are a favorite. If visiting the new capitol building it’s not too far away on 2nd Street.

The staff was very welcoming. You can get a variety of chocolates including original bourbon balls. You can also buy bourbon balls from local distilleries. The tour was $12 for two people which seemed like a lot for a place that should make their money selling their chocolates, so we skipped the tour.

We stopped by the Museum to try their product and purchase a few gifts. Did not have time to take the tour, but as we were leaving and other customer was recommending it!
This company makes custom candy sold in many of the distillery gift shops, using their bourbons. We were surprised and thrilled to see that you would purchase that variety of chocolates at this location. On top of that, the staff was fun, friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful!
What I can say about the candy here: This is hands down the best bourbon ball you will ever eat. Seriously. ALL of their candy puts others to shame, but seriously, the bourbon balls are insanely delicious. There are several retail locations in the area, so don’t miss the opportunity to try this candy. I’d recommend stopping at the Museum, though, because it was just so welcoming.

Unknowingly, eight of us showed up a few minutes late for the last tour of the day. We still browsed the museum room and kind Susan offered to give us a tour anyway. Oh boy did we get a great tour! She was so knowledgeable of the founders of the candy factory, their struggles and the evolution of the equipment to its current state. It’s a wonderful little place and we all highly recommend a visit, and don’t forget to sample and buy some of this to die for candy!

This was a busy place today. I had toured the facility last year with my wife. The tour is actually good. Today I was there to purchase some candy while in the area. A small bag of malt balls and 2 bourbon balls and 2 mint chocolates with liquor was almost $10. That’s a little pricey considering that the mint chocolates were not good at all. The bourbon balls were better and the malt balls were OK but not outstanding. Frankly, I have had better for less at other specialty candy shops. That’s disappointing considering I enjoy smaller local businesses especially in our state. On the plus side it’s close to the state capital if you are visiting.

You can do the tour in this tiny home factory, or just get a sample of the famous bourbon balls and buy a box or two as souvenirs. They must be kept at our below 70 degrees so be aware in case you are traveling without a cooler. Pick up company history brochure to learn more about the two remarkable women who started this business. Plenty of free parking on the street, and there is an angel wing mural outside so you can pose with your goodies!

Our group enjoyed the tour of the candy company, and also the variety of candy available for purchase. It's amazing how they produce such a large quantity of candy in such a small kitchen. Everything is well organized.

A co-worker had told me about this candy store. I did look to see when tours were available but due to meetings at KSU was unable to participate. Even though there are 3 locations inFrankfort I wanted to go to the original store. I wanted to buy the boo-boo's but unfortunately they had has several tours and were sold out, but was told they had them at the other locations so I hurried to another location before closing. both stores were very friendly and was willing to answer questions. was glad I visited and may drive out of my way to buy more next time I'm in the area

I stopped by on a short jaunt to Frankfort to check it out. Though they are not doing their normal tours right now, the guy behind the counter was happy to tell me about how their company came about and give me a sample of their bourbon balls! I do not drink alcohol normally so I was curious if I'd like that flavor. The chocolate blended very, very well with the bourbon flavor and I definitely enjoyed it!
I got a raspberry jelly, peanut butter cream, and dark chocolate caramel to try. Delicious!

My sister and I visited Rebecca Ruth Candy Store and loved it! We did the tour which was super easy. We were able to walk and get on the tour. We saw the factory and watched a video on the history. We learned a lot and it was neat to see the candy making process. We couldn't believe how much candy they make in a small factory! To top it all of - we got to try to legendary bourbon balls which we both highly recommend.

Will Rebecca Ruth Candy Tours & Museum be open the Friday after Thanksgiving? If so, what other places nearby would you suggest that we visit during our vacation from Ohio? Thank you!

FREE BOURBON DISTILLERY TOURS & tastings. Frankfort KY, Buffalo Trace Distillery (can look up on trip advisor) For a beautiful drive, go down Old Frankfort Pike between Lexington and Frankfort. Bunch of wineries too, especially like Equus Run Winery. The Red Mile should be racing (trotters) which includes betting. Lots of beautiful country there.
