Take a little more time than you had planned if you are coming here to look at the gravestones and history. Not a lot of areas to park and leave your car, but lots of older gravestones to view and respect. Worthwhile going to if you appreciate cemeteries.

This historic cemetery is the site of Daniel and Rebecca Boone's grave along with other notable historic figures. There is a stunning view of Frankfort from the hilltop near the Boone's grave site. It's free and of course only a few minutes from the Kentucky Historical Museum and Old State Capitol Building.

It was very interesting. The picture on the site is not Daniel Boone's. The cemetery is beautiful. Well kept. Beautiful view of Frankfort. Many gorgeous tombstones from years ago. Didn't have enough time to investigate and explore. But there is the grave of the first Marine to plant a flag on foreign soil. I used Frankfort as the hub for... More

I love beautiful old cemeteries and this one takes the cake. Gorgeous! Beautifully landscaped. Full of history and lots and lots of memorials and statues dedicated to all branches of the armed services and veterans of conflicts and wars. Also home to Daniel and other Boone graves. Overlooks the river and has a breathtaking view of capital building. Stop in... More

If you want spectacular views of the Capital building the Frankfort Cemetery is a must see. Also the Cemetery has lots of very old grave sites that are special. Many many governors. Make your way to see Daniel Boone's grave site. It is a very peaceful and beautiful area in the cemetery.

Stop by the office for a map and directions from the very helpful and pleasant woman in the office. We went to the Daniel Boone site, the confederate site and the war memorials and thoroughly enjoyed viewing those parts of our history.

This cemetery was full of history. There were graves for each war, for veterans for each branch of the military, and Daniel Boone's grave. Well maintained and great views of the city below.

Get a map (free but please give a donation in the box). Roads are well marked. Very interesting architecture. Monuments are well maintained and clean. Grounds were well maintained.

What an interesting cemetery. The history was worth it, and we were fascinated to see the war memorials and read the dates and names on so many markers. My favorite part of our trip.

Went to look at the Daniel Boone burial site and ended up walking around looking at all the different headstones. You don't realize how big of a cemetery it is until you just keep driving farther into it. At the Daniel and Rebecca Boone site it has some of the best views of the city. You can see the river...
