A hidden Gem for the downtown view! This is great to drive through or walk through. This is a "typical" large city based cemetery except the terrain is beautiful and hilly. We had time on this morning and once in downtown Frankfort this is a very short drive. They claim Daniel Boone is buried here! Other than a large battle... More

The Frankfort Cemetery is full of history in a beautiful setting. There is a map available to use as you tour the cemetery but it is not easy to follow. Daniel Boone's grave is in a beautiful spot with a great view the Kentucky River. The cemetery is very interesting with many notables buried there. It is worth stopping if... More

My son's fifth grade teacher told me to check out Daniel Boone's grave site since we would be in the Frankfort area. It was an extremely beautiful site and old cemetery with incredible views of the city. Worth a stop and the two ten year old boys I had with me loved reading the signs and viewing the memorials.

Note the beautiful old entrance to this historic cemetery. Pick up a map outside the building on your right after you enter through the gate. The view alone of the downtown is worth a visit - a good photo op. Although it was nice to see Daniel Boone's gravesite, the memorial itself was not outstanding. There are plenty of other... More

Visited site to see site of Daniel and Rebecca Boone's burial. Very picturesque view from the site of the KY River below and the Capitol. A lot of interesting monuments in older sections as well as new. A memorial to veterans was on site as well and very educational.

Take a little more time than you had planned if you are coming here to look at the gravestones and history. Not a lot of areas to park and leave your car, but lots of older gravestones to view and respect. Worthwhile going to if you appreciate cemeteries.

This historic cemetery is the site of Daniel and Rebecca Boone's grave along with other notable historic figures. There is a stunning view of Frankfort from the hilltop near the Boone's grave site. It's free and of course only a few minutes from the Kentucky Historical Museum and Old State Capitol Building.

It was very interesting. The picture on the site is not Daniel Boone's. The cemetery is beautiful. Well kept. Beautiful view of Frankfort. Many gorgeous tombstones from years ago. Didn't have enough time to investigate and explore. But there is the grave of the first Marine to plant a flag on foreign soil. I used Frankfort as the hub for... More

I love beautiful old cemeteries and this one takes the cake. Gorgeous! Beautifully landscaped. Full of history and lots and lots of memorials and statues dedicated to all branches of the armed services and veterans of conflicts and wars. Also home to Daniel and other Boone graves. Overlooks the river and has a breathtaking view of capital building. Stop in... More
