"... a wonderful collection, and it's FREE! Thank you" a recent visitor. The Swope's Cars of Yesteryear Museum features vehicles ranging from the early 1900's to the 1960's in a variety of makes and models in both original condition and restored condition. After years of planning and nine months of construction, Swope`s Cars of Yesteryear opened in May 1999. The collection consists of sixty magnificent machines of the past, all museum quality. These are exciting automobiles that stir memories of long ago days when motoring was a fun-filled adventure. Our museum allows car fans and collectors to admire the progression of automobiles over time. Our collection includes antique cars like the 1914 Model T and the 1925 Pierce Arrow to classics like the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro and the 1956 Thunderbird.

Lots of nostalgia here

Husband went for a visit while I was doing some shopping. He loved it and the cars that were there. He was surprised at how many cars that were inside. He highly recommends it.

We stopped here on our trip home from the Northeast, and it exceeds our expectations, as it was totally awesome. The Auto's are completely restored, and have some unique features, and they are all beautiful. You will be greeted at the door, and made to feel like family, and the staff is more than willing to answer any questions, and... More

I've been to this museum several times and it improves with each visit. The collection is comprehensive and well documented. I especially enjoyed reading about the impact vehicles had on the historic development of the automobile. The cars are in pristine condition and dazzle one's imagination.

I am unable to say the exact number of vehicles, however I photographed 38. The oldest auto is a 1910, with the youngest being a 1969 Camaro SS 350. Most autos have completely restored to showroom condition with a few have the original paint & exterior. These few vehicles blend in with no problem. The vehicles are exhibited side by... More

I stopped by the Cars of Yesteryear Museum with my five kids ages 8 to 14 during their summer break. We had a wonderful experience! It was nice to step back in time with my kids and talk about how much cars have changed over the decades. It sparked so many thoughtful observations and great conversations. Perfect for sports teams... More

We really enjoyed the generosity of the Swope family in allowing the public to enjoy all these beautiful cars! My husband spent an hour takin pictures takin pictures while I visited with the nice man who serves as curator. We learned sonics from him about the history behind these vehicles

The Swope's family own series of car dealerships in Elizabethtown. This is a great showroom of classic cars-a few pretty rare. The memorabilia is also great. Just an FYI-my GPS had us on the wrong side of the street. Plus, there isn't a lot of parking available, but this isn't huge deal.

Enjoyed our time at this museum. A must see for classic car lovers. Lots to see and learn. It favor the horse and carriage era over the 60's era.

This is a lovely museum that you can spend it minimum an hour it in maybe two hours if you're really a car nut. There's a lovely hostess who knew the story of many of the vehicles from the family that owns the museum. It's a wonderful tourism tribute to the community and a tremendous asset gift from the owners... More

We had been told of this place. However, I was skeptical since it was free and owned by an auto dealer. Boy were we both very pleasantly surprised by the depth and breadth of the collection. There is also an annex with more cars that we didn't have time to see. If you like to take photos of cars, this... More
