This hidden treasure is a must see for Kentucky. You enter the gift shop and are welcomed by the curator/co-owner. The museum itself is a walk through with so much to see. You get a history of the building itself as well as the very intricate and detailed displays of the dollhouses.
The museum is divided into three general sections. First is a timeline of the continent from pre-colonial to the end of the 20th century. Next is a fictional town, set out in city blocks. And finally, a fantasy area.
If you need supplies for you own dollhouse or miniatures, this is the place to go.

Exquisite renderings of homes and towns filled to the brim with all the accouterments of living in days gone by. Dollhouse sized Victorians with furniture and pint-sized folks living everyday life frozen in time. Western towns with banks, post offices and saloons. Fantasy lands with magicians, dragons and hobbits. Native American landscapes with tepee's and canoes. They also have antique clothes. It's historical and unique with incredible attention to detail.

I had to persuade my companions to make this stop but we ALL enjoyed it! The building has been described as “plain” by other reviewers, but repurposing older builders is what the three of us do so we were pleased to see this gem from the WPA being reimagined. The houses are spectacular. The variety is amazing, the investment admirable & I love the nods toward history & diversity. We own several Airbnb’s so this is definitely going on our “must do” list for Central Kentucky. . We’ll done!

I absolutely loved this place. If you are a miniaturist, then this is a must visit, plus the store is excellent. Even if you are not a miniaturist or dollhouse enthusiast, you will still love seeing the lovely details in the different houses and scenes. Well worth a visit to this place, because it is charming and for everyone, not only for collectors.

My husband and I stopped here on our way from Louisville to Gatlinburg. We both loved it! You can spend a less than an hour or several hours but I suspect you'd have to come often to see all of the details in this wonderful and large collection. There are traditional doll houses and fairy houses and dragon lairs. The children we saw were wildly enthusiastic. I highly recommend it, especially if you are interested in building one. You'll get tons of ideas and there is a large store to help you furnish yours.

Wonderful, mystical, magical! The story, the lighting! 10 stars! I was completely transported into the fictional mining town of Copper Hollow! A wonderful depiction of communities, stores, schools, churches and home life in the past. My absolute favorite was the Shaker village. The history lesson along the streets was an added bonus! The dollhouse store was well stocked with everything you need to bring your own magical world to life! Museum curator Lori is a treasure!

Just visited last weekend. It's a lovely place to see if you're in Kentucky. There are beautiful dollhouses of all sorts to be enjoyed by adults or children, history buffs or collectors. The owner is very knowledgeable, friendly, and generous.

Incredible detail in their miniature settings. Much history to be learned about the area and times. Beautifully restored building and interesting building use history back to the 30’s. Scavenger hunts will entertain the kids and fill their minds with memories. Nice college town on the Bourbon Trail.

Thought I would be in and out but this place is amazing. I was there 2 1/2 hrs and could have spent more time but had to go. Laurie was very sweet and very knowledgeable. I will be back with my grandkids for sure. If you are ever in Danville Ky you have to stop by here and check it out. Worth the time and money to go. Oh and they have more dollhouse accessories than any place around with great prices.
WONDERFUL PLACE

It will carry you back to when you were a little girl - it will make you want to be one all over again - or at the very least you will dying to go home and start building a doll house! They are really cool to at. We enjoyed ourselves - we were 2 grandmas and 2 granddaughters (age 9). All of us loved it - I don’t think boys or men would like it at all - have them go to the tavern and play pin ball.
