the play was ok but pretty simple. It has a very nice setting. My advice is if you go skip the dinner. although there is plenty food it is below average in quality and taste.

Funny thing, my wife made reservations here thanking she was making reservations for the 1 in Bardstown. What a wonderful mistake. Had seen a couple of specials on the Pioneer Playhouse on Kentucky Educational TV, so I was a ware about the theater. We got there a little to early for we were doing the dinner and show. It was... This playhouse and park offers dining (country style), multiple plays throughout the summer, antiques, and museum homes. We visited with friends who have been to the Pioneer in the past. They recommended we take the time to roam through the houses first. We did and met the author of numerous books for sale about the history of the area. He... More

This was the second time we received tickets as a gift. We decided to see another play by our local play write, Bobby Henson, "Good Blues Tonight". It was very good! I had hoped for more music and singing, but it still was well done, funny and extremely entertaining. I would highly recommend going. There is also some old buildings... More

With friends, I went for my first visit to the Pioneer Playhouse for both dinner and a show to see The Murder Room on its Opening Night. I can't imagine I will ever go to the dinner again if I can help it but I will definitely go here again to see the show. When we first got there, we... More

My two daughters 13 and 10, plus Myself. We decided we wanted to come to Danville, KY this year for our summer vacation, because there is a lot of History and attractions in the area. My oldest Daughter loves to do plays in school so The Pioneer Playhouse was a must do on her list. Lucky for us they have... More

I'm from CT but I came to visit a friend last summer. I've been to many theaters but none are as cool as the Pioneer Playhouse. The seating is perfectly angled where if someone tall sides in front of you, you can still see! I love the outdoor aspect as well, especially on those clear nights where all the stars... More

This was our first time at Pioneer Playhouse and we thought the show was fabulous. What a great and unique event. The actors were very talented and volunteers were so nice. Add this to your bucket list but if you don't have an RV I would skip the campground part but the show under the stars is a MUST!
