This has become a family tradition for us, we try to get in all the plays each summer. A true labor of love from this family to all who enjoy this place year after year. It certainly does have a rustic feel so if you are looking for state of the art facilities you are in for a surprise. But... More

Stayed at the RV Park. Needs a lot of updating and TLC. However, the outdoor theater was just great fun. We came upon this place simply by accident. We took a wrong turn on our way across country, and it was one of our favorite experiences! Etta Mae and Joe Deuce, both comedians, were the entertainment for the final shows... More

I understand this is or is one of the last existing dinner outdoor theatres! You can just come for the play or dinner and the play. We did both! Such an interesting place to visit! They have a street with antiques, ice cream shop, etc along with the theatre. Food was delicious! The play was a comedy murder mystery which... More

Dinner was good, but my husband would have gone hungry. I was afraid of eating too much or the wrong thing after after seeing the bathroom stalls, which are saloon style with no locks and a large opening between the doors. The smoked chicken was excellent, the bottom bun was soggy. Corn, fried foods and coleslaw all upset my stomach.... More

the play was ok but pretty simple. It has a very nice setting. My advice is if you go skip the dinner. although there is plenty food it is below average in quality and taste.

Funny thing, my wife made reservations here thanking she was making reservations for the 1 in Bardstown. What a wonderful mistake. Had seen a couple of specials on the Pioneer Playhouse on Kentucky Educational TV, so I was a ware about the theater. We got there a little to early for we were doing the dinner and show. It was... This playhouse and park offers dining (country style), multiple plays throughout the summer, antiques, and museum homes. We visited with friends who have been to the Pioneer in the past. They recommended we take the time to roam through the houses first. We did and met the author of numerous books for sale about the history of the area. He... More

This was the second time we received tickets as a gift. We decided to see another play by our local play write, Bobby Henson, "Good Blues Tonight". It was very good! I had hoped for more music and singing, but it still was well done, funny and extremely entertaining. I would highly recommend going. There is also some old buildings... More

With friends, I went for my first visit to the Pioneer Playhouse for both dinner and a show to see The Murder Room on its Opening Night. I can't imagine I will ever go to the dinner again if I can help it but I will definitely go here again to see the show. When we first got there, we... More
