Nice experience of historic buildings and great food. Went to Straße Haus and the place offers food after 4 PM. Street is LGBTQ friendly and is currently showing support for Ukraine.

Lovely community. You can't help but wish you could live in one of these lovely old homes. They are all colorful and inviting with lots of flowers and inviting entries. There are lots of great restaurants and places to sit and while away the hours.

There is one caveat. NO NOT GO TO THE CLOCK TOWER. We went 3 different times in frigid weather to see it. It does not happen. The tower was built in the 1990s and only plays music there are no figurines whatsoever. Very disappointing. This explains my 3. The rest of the area os a definite 5.

So.....enjoy this lovely Covington community along the river for all its beauty and charm.

I also recommend a stop at Wiseguy Lounge on Main. It's hard to find but definitely worthy of a stop.

we liked walking the main street with the nice houses and cosy bars and restaurants but the empty streets around it didn't feel safe at night

We walked around this neighborhood and enjoyed many places to eat/drink and shop along the way. Everyone was nice and friendly. Parking was a little difficult for us, but it was worth the walk.

We drove over from Downtown Cincy, and we would come back.

We found the Glockenspiel at the end of the park, we got to hear the bells chime, but the piper has an odd schedule, I would check before you make a trip out there if that is important to you.

we (my dog and i) chose a little airbnb set on the middle of this historic area. i can’t say there is lots to do, but certainly a nice place for a walk (to admire the architecture) and a meal. if you’re visiting cinci, it’s worth a visit. i’m a senior, it’s mostly young people around here, but i felt very safe.

My wife and I stayed at a hotel on the corner of Madison and 7th St, so a short walk to MainStrasse. It was a chilly evening with temperatures in the teens. The Goose Girl Fountain was not lit up, but could see some of it in the dark. Goebel Park was nice - even at night and in the cold, the clock tower was impressive. The main 'gripe' with the walk is that business owners along Main Street do a very poor job shoveling their sidewalk. My wife fell on ice on the 600 block of main street, injuring her elbow and back.

There is no Glockenspiel. There really is nothing here to do. There are a few cafes, I suppose, but the gentrification hasn't really happened.

Mainstrasse Village is unbeatable for lunch, dinner, a snack or dessert. So many restaurants from cheap eats to formal dining. Cleaner and safer than anywhere in Cincinnati. Safe both day and night. Great area for bar hopping and enjoying happy hour or late night food and drinks. Variety is the spice of life, and MV has variety and quality. Can't say enough good about this area.

Most shops do close early, even on weekends. If you are going for the shopping, plan to go early. Many nice, unique shops.

If you are visiting downtown Cincinnati, skip the typical and overpriced restaurants and bars, and take a quick walk across the blue bridge or a five minute Uber/Lyft to Covington/Mainstrasse Village. Over-the-Rhine is dangerous and your safety and fun are worth the short trip across the river.
