About
At Mammoth Cave Adventures we offer a 5 line canopy zip tour, that offers 3 skybridges and an outdoor adventure for the whole family. Our lines vary from approximately 120 yards to 300 yards long, they vary in speeds, lengths and heights. We have 6 decks/platforms that differ in heights from about 20 feet to a two tier deck that reaches 44 feet tall. Our primary canopy zip tour takes you from deck to deck in the treetops on a course guided by a minimum of two certified guides for a fun and exciting adventure that will be sure to get your adrenaline pumping. We also offer a secondary course aimed at individuals under 100 lbs, this is a 4 line course with lines that average 120 yards in length. This course also intersects with the primary course and includes a ladder climb for those younger adventure seekers. In addition to ziplines, we offer a 7 1/2 mile canoe & kayak trip on the green river which lies within the Mammoth Cave National Park boundary, and a 1 hour horseback trail ride.

The canoe down the green river was relaxing and beautiful. The staff at Adventures of Mammoth Cave was excellent. We rented 3 canoes for our friends and they hauled our 2 paddle boards for free. Ramona was very helpful and super friendly. Nathan was our van driver to the canoe launch area and his insight of the river was helpful. Nathan and I chatted the entire drive. He's been with Adventures for over 15 years and he's very happy.

We went zip lining and had an amazing time! The guides were in kind, knowledge and had safety as their 1st priority. The kids on our tour had a blast! The adults get 5 zips and the kids hang back with a guide and meet the adults on the 3rd zip. The kids get 3 zips, last 2 with the adults. The 1st adults zips, require a 100 lb minimum. Highly recommend if you're in the area.

We did zip lining and horseback riding. The two men giving the tour are very entertaining and make everyone extremely comfortable. Horseback riding was great also. It would be perfect if they would provide a mounting step.

We zip lined and kayaked with them. My husband does not like heights, but did the zip lining with me. We had a blast! I would definitely love to do it again reaching speeds of 30-50 mph through the trees. Had 5 lines to travel. The guides, who were young, were also professional. The kayaking was a drop in the river and find your way downstream. It was nice because we went at our pace. Saw some nice wildlife and relaxed as the current took us the 7.5 miles downstream. Would have liked to have a better way to get the kayaks up the mountain after the fact, but we survived. Definitely would do things with them again!

Our two oldest boys (age 10&9) took on the aerial ropes challenge. Reservations were simple and staff friendly. The ropes course was definitely challenging but fun. My boys completed the first level and the grownups completed the whole course. The grounds were very well kept with a very low key, relaxed feel. Thanks for the experience!

Grant and Eli were our tour guides for zip lining and each did a fantastic job. We had fun and would definitely recommend. The zips were varied in heights, lengths, speed...
Even though we did not have a child on the kids zip line, I thought it was great that they meet up with us and all together the family did 2 zips. All staff friendly and welcoming. Do it!

I called and made a group reservation several weeks in advance. The day before our ride I called to confirm our reservation. However when we arrived for our ride our group reservation was not in the computer. The girl working the desk was apologetic and offered to fit in our group later the same day, which is why I am willing to give this one star. Unfortunately thunderstorms rolled in and our group was cancelled altogether. I had 12 very disappointed kids. If you need to make a reservation do it with a computer yourself, do not call, and if you are the one answering the phone, be at a computer to actually input the reservations you make.

Me and my partner went to Adventures of Mammoth cave for horseback riding, zip lining, and the aerial challenge course. The horse ride was scenic and exciting. We were able to feed the horses leafs from the trees, keep a conversation within our group, and ride lovable horses. Jocelyn was an incredible guide! During the 5 zip lines we reached high speeds and able to hang upside down on specific lines. Ours 2 guides were spontaneous and even showed off their very cool tricks. Lastly, the challenge course was definitely difficult, but it was fun non the less. At the end of the challenge course we chose to “free fall” off the tower. The staff was very encouraging.
A comfort aspect of the place were all the dogs around that you could pet and watch while waiting for the set ups. It was delightful and I highly recommend.

HORSEBACK RIDING - NOT SAFE. The trail was too advanced and not well maintained. The trail is up and down steep hills and rocks and is narrow so that you constantly need to push off of trees and rocks while going past on the horse so your legs don't get pinched or stuck. Our guide's horse went over a yellow jacket nest in the ground and most everyone - horses, people, dogs got stung. While trying to get away from the yellow jackets and traverse the rocky hillside we were on, my husband's horse fell on it's butt while he was on top. My horse started galloping away with me and I could not get him to slow. The guides brought their dogs along for the trail ride and one was barking and running at my horse, while I was trying to get the horse to slow, making the situation worse. I finally was able to get the horse to slow down enough to get off. I tried to hold onto my horse but the guides had lost their horses and they came galloping at me and the horse I was holding onto. I got stuck in the middle of all three horses and had to release my horse so that I could get out from in between all of them and wouldn't get kicked or stepped on. During the commotion my husband got stepped on by his horse. This was an incredibly dangerous and scary scenario in which we all could have ended up in the hospital.
In summary, the trails need to be much easier for beginners, wider, and better maintained. While the yellow jackets are a risk of being in nature, if the trail had been better maintained this scenario would have been much less likely to occur. Dogs should not be permitted to go on trail rides due to the additional distraction and safety risk that they impose.
I called the company to inform them of the incident and to receive a refund. A refund was received but only after making several calls and having a couple uncomfortable conversations in which I was told that a refund would not occur. Based on those conversations, I have no faith that the company cares or will make any changes.

This place was lots of fun. Tree top adventure, ziplines, horseback riding, even the family dogs were a good time. A word of caution...the kids zipline should not only have a weight limit, but an age limit as well. The kids zipline is pretty much adult zips just 4 instead of the whole course. And you do not get to be with them as they go through the course, which is what we were led to believe. Our son was too young for this experience and had we known he would be by himself and only with a large group of strangers, we would never have let him go alone. Lesson learned and they should have done a way better job explaining the process for the kids zip. I just hope this doesn't ruin him for the future or cause too much trauma.

Do you know if they have restrooms with flush toilets available? Thanks!
Written January 7, 2020
Restrooms are in the main ticket bldg. Make sure you go right before your tour starts. There are no restrooms in the caves, would ruin the caves.

Yes, I believe there is. You’ll have to check with them directly for specifics.

Are reservations required? We will be visiting after a holiday and we are expecting the area to be busy.

Written July 7, 2017
They must be more than 80 #. The zipline was very professional and they followed very good safety protocols for clipping in and keeping people safe. It was a very nice environment but exciting also.

It says primary and secondary zip courses. So my husband and myself can't zip with our 2 children who weigh 60 and 75 lbs?
Written June 14, 2017
The primary is for 100 pounds plus. The secondary is for under 100 pounds (don't remember minimum but it is light.) primary has 3 runs then meets up with secondary after two and all go together last 2. You can go with your kids but you will miss the long runs. We had smaller ones and the guides took them and we met on platform. They all did great probably better since we weren't there for them to be nervous to. One was terrified at first but when she came into her second platform, her smile was amazing. I have awesome pics of them coming into the platform. Hope that answers your question.

How much does it cost to zip-line? And is there a discount for a group of people? Also,do you need to make an appt? If so,what number do we need to contact? Thanks
Written August 19, 2016
We paid $45 each and we didn't have an appointment. We just stopped in to ask questions and they encouraged us to do it right then. They are the nicest people and the whole thing took about an hour to an hour and a half.
