The people who take care of the field did a very good job documenting the battle in an easy to read/educational manner. The signage is well marked, showing the areas of conflict. You can take your time on the driving tour, and there are several trails to get out and walk on.

Turn on Tebbs Bend Road, stop at the first stop, a brochure is available on the front porch. The stops of interests are clearly marked. Historical markers. Plenty of area to get out and walk. Very informative and enjoyable at your own pace. Beautiful picturesque countryside. The driving tour consists of 13 stops.

Tebbs Bend battlefield has a neat driving tour with 13 stops. If you go to the website you can find that with some information about the battle. There isn't much in terms of relics from the battle itself but still a worthwhile adventure for the Civil War buff. If you go there you may as well take time to drive an hour southeast and see the Mill Springs battlefield or an hour northwest to see the Abraham Lincoln birthplace and boyhood farm to maximize the experience.

This is a forgotten battlefield, where Michigan's Forgotten Civil War Regiment won a battle against John Hunt Morgan's raiders. 250 Michigan soldiers stood off Morgan's 4000 raiders as they started out on Morgan's Great Ohio Raid. The battle occured on July 4, 1863. The big stories that day were the surrender of Vicksburg and the victory at Gettysburg. Company I of the 25th was recruited from the Dutch Colony in Holland and Zeeland, Michigan and were the only unit in the Civil War that spoke Dutch and had their orders issued in Dutch. Most of the men in this unit were born in the Netherlands.

We drove through this site. It has historical markers to read that tell the story of Tebbs Bend site. Civil War buffs would really like this stop, and if you like photography it have several neat spots including a old iron bridge.

There are nice markers with brief historical accounts of the Green River Bridge Battle and the men who were there.

I can still remember what the old bridge looks like setting on the new ones place, wood boards popping when you drove across it, taking you back to a simpler time in life.
The new bridge is really nice.
The state left it as a rustic look, with a weather finish.
The old bridge is relocated to the feild a few hundred yards away for historic reasons.

Close to highway 55 about 1/2 block. Monument and headstones with a history of the battle July 4, 1863. Don’t be surprised to see the Stars and Bars flying . My line supported the USA but have a 1st cousin 6 times removed buried there riding with Morgans Raiders. Tour the battle field by car then go up to Green River State Park just a couple of miles away and see the story of how the wounded were treated. Still blood stains on the wood in the building. Interesting history. Not glofifyimg the South but just remembering Americans who fought and died ,right or wrong, in the history of America and Kentucky.
