Apple Valley Hillbilly Gardens and Toyland is a throw back to old by-gone tacky roadside stops that existed in the 1940s -1960s. There is an old Gulf gas station and store (museum) and a toyland with over 3000 toys in a working diorama. Take a walk around the eclectic junk art and Hillbilly Gardens. We are located one mile east of I24 exit 16 on HWY 68 W.

The owners are a very sweet couple who will be more than happy to fill you in on the local history. The back story is hysterical. Wonderful homage to local businesses and artists. Go with an open mind and ready for some good, quirky, roadside fun.

This is someone's home- the history on how this began is very interesting. The couple and children that live there are very friendly! The cost is technically free, but they do have a donation can in the main entrance art piece. They have collector item toys from generations ago! I must say this is a must quick stop and an... More

A few things: The owner, Keith, is a genuinely nice guy. And it all looks like a lot of fun from the road. But be prepared to get sucked in, and if offered a "full tour," know what you're getting into. My friend and I were there for at least two hours - this is about the time I would... More

my husband and I stopped at this roadside attraction at the suggestion of a friend who likes quirky as much as we do and we were not disappointed. The owner is super friendly and welcomes visitors to his free folk art garden and Toyland

Can't help but be happy when you leave here. Let's talk about repurposing! This guy does it with his art. It's crazy. It's fun. It's creative. And, mind you, with junk and stuff that he is keeping out of the landfill and happily sharing with strangers. He takes the role of a docent to a new level as he descibes... More

My kid and I have literally been all over the world - but we have never visited anywhere even remotely like our visit with Keith at Apple Valley - imagine visiting an old friend you had lost touch with when you had graduated high school (I don't think Keith even knows the word "stranger") - and you find out he... I came here with my grandparents a couple months ago and I keep meaning to write a review, but I've been procrastinating. First off, you definitely need to be a certain kind of person to appreciate this kind of art, being well traveled or at least aware is also important, have a liking for nice, quirky people, and to have... This place is a great way to kill some time. It's a fun, side of the road attraction. The old toy room is nostalgic.

The place was amusing . The owner gave us a tour and explained each piece perfectly. Wouldn't have missed it. This family has great talent. The story of the inspiration for the place is also interesting. Great place. Worth the stop.
