What a find!
Sep 2019 • Couples
My husband an I were enroute to Maker's Mark and saw a small sign that said "General Store" in Bloomfield. Knowing we had time to spare, we took a 3 mile off highway to town. It was a lovely store, beautifully maintained and staff were very helpful. We made varied purchases. My husband is an avid movie viewer and saw a coffee table book on Jerry Bruckheimer. We learned that the building was actually purchased by Linda and Jerry Bruckheimer who restored the building to it's original architectural style. I believe they have made beautiful restorations of other town buildings as well. We highly recommend stopping in for a visit!

Nice place. Has lots of true antiques and heirloom type items. Couldn't really afford much though. Lots of 1800's era stuff

Amazing antiques!

Though we go through antique shops regularly on our trips, this one had high quality antiques many of which were exquisite Kentucky pieces. Though most were beyond our price range, anyone who is wanting to purchase fine antiques or to see an extensive history through them - this is the place to visit. Staff were available to answer questions and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Well worth your time if you like to peruse antiques.

High-quality selection of antiques

What a beautiful collection of dishes, silver, beds, chests, jugs, chairs, and so much more! Every piece has character and history behind it. There was a particularly beautiful bed from Texas with an inlaid vine pattern on the high headboard and footboard. My husband and I collect antique jugs, and this store had many to choose from. Be sure to go upstairs as there are several rooms up there to explore. The adjoining store next door sells an array of Kentucky products: soaps, jams, etc. The woman working in the stores was very helpful and friendly.

There is a range of prices, with the finer pieces being quite expensive, as one would expect. But we saw several jugs priced around $100. Jugs are a relatively inexpensive way to start collecting.

Amazing antiques.
Such a great antique store in the heart of Bloomfield. I do know a thing or two about antiques and from the cheapest piece (nothing is cheap) to the most expensive piece, the collection here is exquisite! I may not be able to afford many pieces here but I enjoy looking and seeing the quality of craftsmanship!

We were in Bloomfield for an auction and decided to stop in this shop. Fantastic museum quality antiques...high prices and not a single person could we find working there.
