Came with my husband who thinks he's a connoisseur of bourbon. The tour was wonderful, the gentlemen doing the training was funny and very informative. I am not a bourbon drinker, but it was a fun afternoon.

The highway roars by without tree coverage. The landscaping needs weeding & watering. The back patio is graced by planter boxes?? No...parked cars. The employees chatted to themselves instead of the customers. They included no info sheets with the astringent pours. The background story about the owner seemed contrived and rightly so when, upon research, revealed she was part of the college entrance exam scandal; most likely the reason the orphan-barrel booze was exceptionally overpriced.

Donna, Our focus for 30+ yrs is on vintage, higher proof/cask strength, very small batch whiskey. That big bold profile sounds like it is not your preference. Although in Bardstown, Preservation is a fully operating, sustainability focused farm, using our limestone groundwater for making our pot distilled Kentucky whiskeys, a deal breaker for commercial weed killers which seep into ground water. With Covid compliance we've been a bit short on help, but most visitors enjoy our scenic grounds, take lots of photos, and many get married here. Our typically very friendly and conscientious crew has heard your concerns. I'm sure you are well- intentioned, so most of all we’re sorry you didn't enjoy your visit.

We recently visited Preservation Distillery while on the Bourbon Trail. Our tour guide was Iris, and she was extremely knowledgeable about Preservation as well as the industry. We had a “rookie” Bourbon visitor along with us, and Iris’ explanation of the distillery process was great. She also did a nice job of explaining the differences between a boutique distillery and the larger ones. Finally, the tasting was great with good explanations of the samples and all were excellent. I highly recommend visiting Preservation when on the Bourbon Trail.

While disappointing that their own product isn’t yet available (time time time), what is there as a blend or spirit shows such great hints of what is to come. Definitely worth the stop and tour! Great story with this one

Did their 30 min tour and tasting. It all is well worth it and a neat experience to hear how this two year old distillery got started. The Cowboy was my favorite bourbon!
