- addoehringElizabethtown, Kentucky20 contributionsLux Row Distillery TourThe Lux Row Distillery tour was one of the best we have done. It is not a mega facility, so you get to see every step in the bourbon making process. One unique aspect of the tour was visiting the rickhouse. They let you sample bourbon straight from a barrel. There was no additional charge for this like other distilleries do. The tasting room was a beautiful venue where there were four bourbon offerings to taste. We had a great experience.Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 13, 2023
- Escape469268912431 contributionGreat tour; great bourbon; great tasting roomWe had not heard of these bourbon brands before but read excellent reviews. We were not disappointed! The tour was excellent, and tour guide fun and interesting. The tasting room was excellent and elegant with prepared flights and chocolate pairings. The bourbon was excellent...we enjoyed all 4 tasting flights. We left with several bottles from the gift shop. They have a bar in the gift shop where you can purchase additional tastings at a reasonable price. Try the bourbon cream. It was great alone or in coffee. All 6 of us highly recommend this distillery!Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 19, 2023

Absolutely gorgeous property and the staff was knowledgeable and helpful. Their tour with tasting included some chocolate pairing that were a great touch. Loved getting to taste the difference in their Bourbon brands. Definitely a fan now!Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 13, 2023

- barmanmomLouisville, Kentucky25 contributionsDon't miss this stop on the KY Bourbon TrailMy husband and I did the mixology class and had a great time! We were one of about 5-6 other couples. The class was held in their old stone house and it was a fantastic setting. When we walked in there were two large tables set up with individual bar tools and couples were encouraged to sit across from each other. The tools used were so very nice. Every item needed to mix the drinks were already on the table for us. Emily was our guide and she did a fantastic job of giving us an overview of Lux and their spirits. We made our first drink which was a spiced cranberry mule. And it was DELICIOUS!! And it was no small pour either! After our first drink, we got to take a mini tour of a rickhouse and sample some bourbon straight out of the barrel! Then back to mix a fabulous old-fashioned. I highly recommend a stop at Lux Distilleries. It s a beautiful place, the staff is wonderful and welcoming!Visited February 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten February 26, 2024
- Justin M1 contributionNew Favorite Distillery! The tour was exceptional, the bourbon was delicious, our tour guide was awesome and we loved the barrel thieving! The souvenir glass was a nice touch as well. We enjoyed our free tour at Lux Row more than all the tours we paid to take at other distilleries! Lux Row is my new favorite distillery and I will definitely be a customer for life! I hope to have the opportunity to visit Lux Row again in the future.Visited February 2024Traveled with friendsWritten February 27, 2024
- ALFS575Houston, Texas8 contributionsFun Tasting at Lux Row!We were with a group of friends and family celebating some milestone birthdays. Lux Row is one of the smaller distilleries on the trail (bigger than craft size). The tasting done by Roma was great - she explained everything very well. We received a nice high-ball glass with the Lux Row logo as a tour gift.Visited March 2024Traveled with friendsWritten March 4, 2024
- jennymacfuqFranklin, Tennessee339 contributionsGreat tasting and beautiful groundsWe had a premium tasting at their stone house and our tasting guide was fantastic. Then, we went to a rock house and drank a sample directly from a barrel. Our tasting came with a cocktail and my old fashioned was delicious. Really enjoyed our experience. If you’re lucky, you’ll sea one their peacocks roaming the grounds.Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 25, 2024

My husband picked Lux Row as one of our stops on our little Bourbon Trail tour. It was the only place he picked not knowing much about the brand going in and it so far has been our favorite place.
The property itself is newer and quite nice. The staff was engaging when we arrived and checked in. If you're a bourbon fan, there's an option for an extra upgrade on the tour. Not being a bourbon fan, I was the only one who passed on this.
Our guide, Hannah, was fantastic. She was informative, funny and engaging. Husband said he even learned a few new things on the tour. Once we toured the facility, we ended in the tasting room where we got to try 4 bourbons (5 with the upgrade) and 3 of them with a chocolate accompaniment. Everything is better with chocolate!
What's also cool about Lux Row is that they had a single barrel option that's only available at the distillery and not exorbitantly priced. They limit the bottles per person for obvious reasons.

We attended a VIP tasting of the Blood Oath Pacts 1-8 with Master Distiller John Rempe. The tasting was made even better since John told of the specific ages and barrels that went into each Pact along with stories and thoughts about each expression. As the older Pacts are nearly impossible to attain, if they do this again, I would highly recommend going. I believe only 16 tickets were sold for this event, so you have to be quick in buying your tickets because it sold out in a few hours.

In the current COVID situation, many distillers only have tastings, if at all. The Lux Row distillery gave a good production tour with the appropriate small group size and cleaning protocols in place.
The grounds and facilities were one of the nicest we visited. Our guide Kaitlyn was very good with information and answering questions. It was great to get the smells of both the fermentation in the production as well as in the rickhouse. While not as big as some of the other distilleries, Lux Row has some well known labels, and growing upon these brands.
The tree lined entrance, old house, and peacocks just added to the idyllic Kentucky setting.
Well worth a visit.

We stumbled upon this wonderful establishment during a recent trip to Bardstown KY. We had never been to a distillery and this was an excellent first stop. Upon arrival they said all of their tours were booked but Justin graciously invited us to make ourselves comfy and offered us a complimentary movie about the making of bourbon. After a few moments of looking around Justin found us and said he was able to make room for us in the next tour. We were shocked to learn that the tour with 4 bourbon tastings cost a mere$13.00 and offered us an upgrade for the tasting of an additional $13.00. What a delight we found in our guide whose name escapes me after the tasting! Suffice it to stay that we would highly recommend this family run business ! We had a wonderful experience!

Fantastic experience touring Lux Row. Our guide, Casey did a wonderful job of explaining the distilling process. Even behind the covid required mask, you could tell that she thoroughly enjoyed talking bourbon. Highly recommend!

The production tour was fantastic, arguably one of the best ones I’ve had on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and seemed to be committed to the distillery. Plus, a guide that was willing to give extra free samples of whiskey after the tour is always a welcome bonus.
So why did this get 3/5? During the tastings, the chocolates completely killed the taste of the ryed whiskies that were sampled. If I can’t tell the taste between a $64 whiskey and a $250 whiskey because I ate chocolate beforehand, that’s a problem.
The production tour is worth checking out, but I’d recommend skipping the chocolates during the tastings.

What's not to like at a distillery tour? They're all different, educational, and you get to try samples! Lux Row is a new distillery, so it's not steeped in hundred year old history, but instead is an example of modern technology in operation. Lux Row has a feeling of an industrial process, but that's not a bad thing. Everything is new, clean, and organized. They have a nice fresh copper distillation section and an amazing rickhouse. How can a rickhouse be amazing? They designed it with a viewing section where you stand at the base of a huge wall of bourbon barrels. Honestly, the pictures don't do it justice! You need to see this in person! Oh, and our tour guide, Casey, was awesome! She made giving a tour seem effortless. She was thorough, knowledgeable, and was not stumped by a single question!

Lux Row Is a state of the art facility that provides a unique distillery tour experience. While they are a newer distillery, they make up for the lack of history with an excellent look at modern bourbon production. Their products are fresh and new, what I like to call the heavy metal of bourbon.

A new distillery built from the ground up in recent years. You start with a short movie and then you get an inside look including the still that is very high. They do not bottle anything here, but none of the others show the bottling anyway. The tasting is done in a beautiful room and our guide gave a good presentation on each sample we tasted.

I am a former Kentucky resident and have done the trail a few times but I am now living in the Washington DC area and will be bringing a group of people to do the trail in July. Since this is a new addition I would like to check it out. I have heard good things and we all like Rebel Yell 10 year!!
A few questions:
Do they let you taste Blood Oath?
What types of merchandise do they sell?
Will I be able to park a 15 passenger transit van on their grounds?
Thanks!!
Written May 17, 2018
Great questions.... Rebel Yell 10 year is a great pour!
They have a huge parking lot so a van is no problem. As for merch... they have the trinkets that most of the distilleries have... coasters, glassware, clothing, etc. The store area is nice, bright and well stocked. You can buy all the bourbons they make at the gift shop. When I was there they had some bottles of Blood Oath (pact 3 & 4) hidden behind the counter that were hand signed by the Master Distiller.... but you have to ask for them. As for tasting... Rebel Yell, Ezra Brooks, and David Nickelson Reserve is what they pour. If you ask nicely, you may get to taste Blood Oath, but that is not normally on the tour, so probably not. Their Rick House is impressive... different than most and for me was the highlight of the tour... you'll see why when you get there.
Cheers... and as always... "Drink Happy"!
