When you roll into town from the east on Old 40 Highway, the egg is quite a sight. The novelty quickly wears off though. It seems kind of lonely sitting there under its canopy. Wilson is well worth visiting though, lots of interesting buildings and...More

Kudos to the Wilson community on this project. We've passed by on the Interstate many times and today, finally, had time in the schedule that allowed us to stop. Great attraction and a very nice presentation!

Came here for the egg the second time - now there are more and it's upright. Stayed even for the night to view the egg from our room in the Midland Hotel across the road.

Wilson is a cute, small town with some interesting buildings to look at and read about on the Main Street. The egg was a hit with the kids (5 Mo-6 years) and they loved it. It’s just a big egg, but the design is pretty...More

The world's largest Czech egg is just a couple miles south of I-70. It is free and you can view the egg and wander around and read how the egg came to be there along with some history of the area. It is worth seeing...More

There's really not much to say. It's a ginormous Czech Egg. Great photo op and that's pretty much it. If you drive a block to the main street, there are about four or five more smaller Czech eggs along both sides of the street.

We stopped here for a quick break. The egg was fun to see. There are three smaller ones on their Main street. I am not sure if this was usual or if they were preparing for their Czech festival in 3-4 days but they had...More

Yep, its a giant Czech egg in a tiny town. Wilson is a quick little detour off I-70 but there are some nice diners in town near the Egg. It falls in the same category as the world's largest ball of twine, but its a...More

First off, THANK YOU for your nice review of the egg! I don't really have a question, just a correction of sorts. The review says there is nothing to do in town but see the egg. Well, there are several things to do in town in addition to seeing the egg. For instance: Visit the Midland Hotel which is a renovated historic hotel that was rated one of the top 50 US hotels of its kind by MSN, visit the Midland Mercantile, visit the antique shop, take a self guided walking tour of the town, visit the round limestone jail, take a stroll down Main Street to view the limestone buildings made of locally quarried limestone, have a bite to eat and sample authentic Czech food at one of the restaurants in town, stop in Wilson Foods for some smoked sausage, or visit the spray park to cool off. If you pass through again maybe you'll have time to "Czech Out" one of the other great things to do in Wilson.

You're right Scott, that wasn't a question. It was "my" opinion, of the things that I saw on my way out of town. You are, of course, free to write your own review. We drove down most of the streets of Wilson, looking for... More
