We went down there the other evening and it was really nice. Well lit paths and pretty fountains made for a lovely evening stroll for our family. We really enjoyed it and plan to make it a regular fair weather activity.

I've stayed at a hotel on the corner of Broadway and Douglas, so have enjoyed the drive down Douglas to and from a work project. There are lots of sweet things to see including sculptures and wonderful architecture. Nice drive or walk!

Douglas Ave. has really changed over the years. It was always great fun to cruise Douglas and hang out on the street corner. Now the gang bangers will shoot you, oh to return to the more innocent days of old.

This is my favorite premiere street in town. It is a main avenue east and west thru some of the grandest neighborhoods and historic areas of central Wichita. Most businesses and neighborhoods along Douglas are revitalized and booming.

During my young adulthood this was the real "American Graffiti" of Wichita. The tradition was to "drag Douglas from College Hill on the East to the Town & Country Diner just past Delano on West Douglas. Today downtown Wichita is DEAD at night except for...More

Times have sure changed since we used to "drag" Douglas on Friday nights with all of our friends and see the new "rods".

Very impressive to see at night. Wichita is doing so much better with attractions than it used to. The Arkansas River is under the bridge and a site for many activities, including River Fest and Fourth of July fireworks.

I'm going to assume this is East side Douglas or at least not at West street. I lived at DOuglas by East High School and it was easy access to pretty much everything that side of Exploration place. Closest to Old-Town and/or Rock Road of...More

Douglas Ave stretches across Wichita running east to west. In the downtown area, it was once where young baby boomers went to "drag Douglas" and hangout. Today there's no dragging. Now everyone goes to enjoy and hang out at many of the businesses, restaurants and...More

We walked down Douglas Ave to reach old town. There were a few cute stores and restaurants on our walk down Douglas.

If you're in Old Town Wichita then you are very close because it is the main street which leads into the area. If you need a restaurant to get a street address try "Larkspurs" which is in Old Town and on Douglas Avenue. Old... More
