We walked around the area and watched the fountain shows at 8 and 9 p.m. The ones at 9 were better of course because it was darker so the lights really popped.. Would have liked to stay for the 10:00 show as well but didn't...More
Take some time to savor this area. Interesting architecture, bronze sculptures, colorful murals. We planned our visit so we would be there on Saturday, avoiding downtown traffic on work days. Volunteers (master gardeners) were busy planting fall flowers in huge concrete bowls at intervals along...More
Our son recently moved to Douglas Ave in Downtown Wichita. We did a lovely late Sunday afternoon walk around the surrounding areas. This area used to be the historic Chilsom Trail area. Area is being renovated and repopulated. They are doing a good job at...More
We went down there the other evening and it was really nice. Well lit paths and pretty fountains made for a lovely evening stroll for our family. We really enjoyed it and plan to make it a regular fair weather activity.
I've stayed at a hotel on the corner of Broadway and Douglas, so have enjoyed the drive down Douglas to and from a work project. There are lots of sweet things to see including sculptures and wonderful architecture. Nice drive or walk!

If you're in Old Town Wichita then you are very close because it is the main street which leads into the area. If you need a restaurant to get a street address try "Larkspurs" which is in Old Town and on Douglas Avenue. Old town stretches from Douglas to 2nd Avenue and from the train tracks at the old train Station (also on Douglas) to Washington street.
