Amazing barrier reef experience out of bundaberg
Apr 2021
We booked the tour via internet. the weather were very nice and the sea calm, if not they told us that they would have to cancel the tour and remake on another day, so be careful when you book your holiday. the lady musgrave island is fantastic and the barrier reef is wonderful. not may people knows that you can snorkel in the barrier reef just from bundaberg avoiding to go up to cairns. there was turtles everywhere and colourful fishes too, the island has a beautiful white sandy beach and its amazing. the birds are nesting there for Townsend of years and the trees are full of them. overall an amazing experience very recommended for the family.

First time scuba diving experience
Mar 2021
We had an amazing time at Lady Musgrave. The journey is lengthy (2 hours each way) but the staff is friendly and funny stopping for a chat every so often.

It’s no wonder the island is far away - conserving its beauty and healthy ecosystem.

My first time scuba diving experience was a challenging one, I soon realised that I was very anxious and afraid of such unfamiliar practice. With that said, I couldn’t be more grateful for all the patience that Lisa (Diving instructor) had. She is fantastic!
It was a great experience and I felt safe and enjoyed the experience overall.

Dec 2020 • Family
Yesterday my family and I had they best time with 1770 reef over to lady Musgrave island the staff are amazing on the boat and the ground crew too. My two girls had the best time snorkelling and they got to see turtles. I would definitely do it again in the future.

One hour snorkeling, chaotic and long trip
Nov 2020 • Couples
I was very excited for the Lady Musgrave Experience tour but I feel like it fell short in a few ways:

1. The main reason I went was for the snorkeling which was very nice. The problem is that I only got about an hour in the water, much less than the 2 hours promised. If you want to snorkel I recommend skipping island tour and glass
Bottom, they were average.

2. The tour departed at about 7:20 and arrived back at 4:30, so nearly an hour less than advertised. We spent about 4 hours in transit to and from island.

3. The crew talked a lot about COVID rules but did not enforce all of the rules.

4. The food was good but the process was chaotic and we almost missed out a couple of times due to lack of communication.

5. When pressed the owner did not put the customer first but instead looked for every possible reason why the crew was right and customer wrong.

Too bad! Lots of room for improvement here.

Heaven
Nov 2020 • Couples
We went across to the island with Lady Musgrave experience and camped for 3 nights. It was absolutely incredible & for anyone your is happy to ‘get back to basics’ the island is heaven. No power, phone service and max 40 campers a night. Some of the best coral I’ve seen on the Great Barrier Reef.

The team at Lady Musgrave Experience went above & beyond for visitors. Special

A fantastic day trip Lady Musgrave Island
Nov 2020 • Family
A full day of fun, walks, snorkelling, glass bottom boats, great food and awesome company all with #1770Reef

The day starts with ride to reef 64km off shore. The boat was comfortable and a new boat starts in service in coming weeks. The approach to the island is amazing with the blue water and visible coral and we were lucky with a low tide on arrival.

A walk around the island was interesting with bird life and many things to see in the shallows to keep the kids entertained. We even found some turtle tracks another highlight.

Glass bottom boat allows those that don't want to go I the water to enjoy the coral and marine life which was amazing. So many fish colours and types and massive hard coral formations.

Food all provided which makes for an easy day on the water with this team. A big thanks to Captain Isaac, glassboat and engineering Boss Barry, cool calm "Karsha" Casia, Mick and Brett snorkelling supervisors.
We highly recommend this #1770Reef experience.

Amazing day out!
Oct 2020
My mother and I had a blast on the Lady Musgrave day tour. The crew were absolutely fantastic, so helpful, knowledgeable and ready to assist whenever needed. Brett was more than willing to allow us to swap out snorkelling for more time on the island - with a glass of wine! It was such a nice experience to chill on the island and watch a number of turtles swim by in the shallows. We had an unbeatably fun time with Cameron on the glass bottom boat tour.. he was SO funny and had a brilliant knowledge about marine life and the reef. My mum and I purchased the VIP package and it was worth every cent to have the comfortable captains lounge upstairs with food. Us and another small group of 3 people were the only ones in there and it was so quiet and we really did feel like VIP's. The only thing I can say is if you get sea sick, please do everything you can to make sure you don't get sick on the boat.. it rocks a lot .. even in good weather! Wear sea sickness bands, take tablets 24 hours before and throughout the day of your tour because I couldn't really experience as much as my mum did in the captain's lounge due to being sick. If you don't get sick, you will have the BEST time - and definitely upgrade!

Lady Musgrave Experience for the day
Oct 2020
What a truly amazing experience.
We went with our 4 children aged 17, 15, 12 and 11. On the advice of others we took sea sickness tablets the night before and 30 mins before our boat trip. The 2 hour 15 minute ride over was bumpy but not at all terrifying. We felt safe the whole time and the staff made sure everyone was doing ok. None of us were sick so the trip was comfortable.
Once we arrived at the island we could not believe the sheer beauty and colour of the reef. To see it in real life is beyond amazing. We snorkeled as soon as we arrived. My youngest was scared to get into the deep open water but he had a noodle under him and it was so crystal clear the fear disappeared and we took in all it’s beauty. He was the last of our children to leave the water and said it was the best day of his life. The coral and fish were bright and well alive and healthy. There were huge sea clams, blue starfish, a huge variety of fish who were happy to swim around you. We were also lucky enough to swim with 3 sea turtles who were very happy to swim around us. This was the highlight of the day.
Lunch was cold meats, salads and miso soup with bread rolls which was nice. A couple of sandwich options for the younger kids would have been good as they only ate the bread rolls. You can take your own food on board which I would suggest for little kids.
We then headed over to the island on the glass bottom boat. Our host was Cameron who was very entertaining and just a true blue dinky die Aussie with his larrikin laugh and humor. Similar personality to Steve Irwin. He truly knew the reef well and his love of the reef and it’s animals were very evident. He showed us some resting turtles, a stingray, a huge brain shaped coral formation and some mating green turtles.
The island tour was great. The beach is covered in beautiful white coral - remember to take shoes! It sounded like we were walking on glass but the formations were so beautiful and like nothing like what you would see on a normal beach.
Walking through the middle of the island was spectacular. The trees are beautiful and the birds and nests were like nothing we had ever seen. So protected and healthy. The tour guide was very informative and she also displayed a genuine love for the island.
Once we arrived back to the main boat we headed home and slept most of the way.
We would highly recommend this tour. It is very good value for money, it is well run and very safe. The staff go way beyond to be helpful and friendly and are a great team. The boat is clean and well maintained.
Can’t wait to return again soon.
