Visited February 2009. Roughly 30-45 minutes south of Bacolod City. It’s a good idea to rent out transportation for the day, leave early in the morning for Mambukal, and then come back in the afternoon/evening. We rented out a jeepney for roughly 2,000 pesos and brought some food to cook. There’s quite a bit to do here at Mambukal, all on cash basis, with relatively low fees. Per the website: Hotel Rooms, Water Falls, Swimming Pools, Function Hall, Therapeutic Warm Dipping Pool, Picnic Huts, Overnight Cottages, Food Court, Bat Watching, Boating, Wall Climbing, Slide for Life, Canopy Walk, and Camping Ground.http://www.mambukalhaven.com/location.htmlFirst we rented one of the picnic huts and started cooking. After we ate, we checked out the water fall, swimming pool, therapeutic warm dipping pool, boating lagoon and bat watching ….Picnic Huts – Nice views with a stand to grill and a sink wash your hands. The water comes directly from the falls.Water Fall – I’d say about it’s about a 30 minute hike to the first waterfall, over uneven ground and a single pipe railing to hold on to. Certainly a workout, I wouldn’t recommend this to the less-adventurous. There are a total of 6 or 7 waterfalls you can hike to, each one a less safe hike than the one before. You should at least hike to the first waterfall, it will be worth the trip. Bat Watching – You can see the bats hanging down from the tall trees in the distance from just about anywhere on the resort. They have specific ‘bat watching’ signs though, on the route to the first waterfall. Boating – You can rent a kayak for 30 minutes to an hour, good for 5 or 6 people per kayak. Life vests and two paddles are provided. Nice lagoon, lots of fun and good exercise. Swimming Pool – Cool water, large pool area. Like any other swimming pool except that this water is from the falls!Therapeutic Warm Dipping Pool – Like a hot shower on a cold day, but in ‘pool’ form. If you’re not used to the hot water just give your body time to adjust and sink lower and lower …. The resort was lots of fun, don’t forget the suntan lotion. Easily took up a whole day. A must visit if you are in Negros!

This place has been the focal point of visitors in Negros province but lately with the development of other tourist destination around the province this place was disregarded...It should be better if local goverment will help promote this one and try to refresh this beautiful place once again and offer more to attract people to come.

Stayed in a room good for 4. Big enough room with veranda-ish where you could hang your clothes and towels. Well maintained working bathroom. Our friends stayed in a villa cottage bit farther from the 'street'. Bit secluded but very spacious room. Good deal all in all.

For nature lovers, this resort is a tiny paradise. We woke each morning to the sound of the river that runs through the resort. The flying fox bats were mesmerizing. We trekked through the forest, enjoying the waterfalls and nature. The swimming pools were excellent and included in the price of a room. The sulfur hot spring was another new... More

Since we my friend and I are already in Bacolod, we decided to spent first half of the day at the Mambukal Mountain Resort. It is such a beautiful place with hotsprings and falls. Unfortunately, during that time, there seems to be repairs being undertaken on the falls thus we were only allowed to go to Falls #1. After that... More

I was expecting quite much about the place but still i like it. The rooms look creepy and a bit outdated. they should paint the rooms white to give more light finish and also need some renovation. /good thing about the place is that you can have some other things like climbing up the 7th falls, enjoying hot springs, bat... I've visited Mambukal three times during march, april and december. Nice place to see the waterfalls. There are 7 waterfalls, but some of them were closed when we were there. I hiked up with flip flops which actually worked, but i'd rather have my jogging shoes next time! I remember that there's always a guide walking with your group, which... More

My mother and I had a side trip to Mambukal while visiting Bacolod City. The staff are very accommodating. They oriented us of what to expect, available cottages, and amenities inside the resort. You need to walk a lot however since there are trees everywhere as well as scenic views, you'll not notice how far you've been walking around. I... More

Nice mountain getaway from noise and grime of Bacolod. The "Resort" is always full of locals picnicing and having big outdoor grill cookouts right from their room patios. The standard rooms are filthy. Ants everywhere. The cubbords were filthy. Even if you are overnight guest, you pay for each individual hot pool, or soaking pool etc. Everything else was broken... I can't believe this place is being run by the government! Its well maintained and practical for families and tourists alike. This place is complete: 1. you can trek to the waterfalls for some adventure seeking travellers 2. Take a dip in their hot spring 3. Swim in their pool 4. Relax in their spa, which by the way is... Its a short mini bus ride from Libertad Market in Bacolod City and the entrance fee is only Php 50 per person....it's a forest-spring resort at the slope of an active volcano - Canlaon...lots of activities- boating, zipline, swimming at the pools or the stream, eating, camping, watching the trees laden with squeaking flying foxes and fruit bats, or simply...
