Forget just crossing Kansas--Need a break--this will surprise you. This zoo and its museum are above average. They have a tram so it is easy for all ages to tour the animal exhibits. Obviously the small children will love the live animals and the taxidermy exhibits in the diorama. Come to Rolling Hills in June and not only can you... More

We were a group of abut 40 and had 2 trams to take us around the zoo. This is a great way to see everything if you have mobility problems. As with any day all of the animals were not out, but the tram operator give us information about them like where they were from and their names. We ate... More

visiting family in the area and needed something for the whole group to do - what an interesting afternoon for ALL - from small children to elders. Well laid out and easy to traverse with interesting animals and well designed signage the best part was talking with the caretakers of the animals and learning the cultural and care of all... More

On a road trip we decided to stop on to see this zoo we had seen so many signs for. Were we shocked! We've been to several zoos and found this one to be amazing and rivals many others in big cities. The grounds are so spacious and open. Baby giraffe at the time we were there! Cafe at zoo... More

What made this small private zoo worthwhile for us was getting opportunities to talk with some of the zookeepers one on one. We visited with the keeper of the chimpanzees and she told us all about the individual animals, their habits and quarks, and a little about how they care for them. This wasn’t some set spiel, this was answers... More

Wow, just wow! I arrived at Rolling Hills Zoo for a meeting that was held in the Conference Center/Museum area. I was astounded by the unique entrance, pre-function space, and lovely meeting space...but most of all, I loved the access to the museum! I could have wandered for hours, enjoying the exhibits and indoor waterfalls. Honestly, it was the best... More

Hard to imagine that one man's dream created this wonderful zoo in the middle of Kansas. It is a beautiful area, with lots of space to both watch the exhibits and when necessary to rest. Not so large that it kills an entire day to go through the exhibits. Very friendly staff.

If you get to the Salina area, this is a MUST see. A fantastic zoo and wildlife museum. Hopefully you'll have the majority of a day to take in both venues. An incredible find for this part of the country.

Loved the zoo & museum! Highly recommend visiting this beautiful zoo. We were there on a gorgeous spring day. My dogs were barking (toes / feet were hurting) so I made good use of the tram. We all rode the tram, off & on. Walked most of it. Great gift shop! Restaurant was open but we didn't use. Animals &... More
