I've ordered food from here twice at lunch time. The soups have been fantastic and the sandwiches are huge! The first time I got potato soup with a half BLT and OMGosh was it good! I just got the broccoli cheese soup and half Reuben and they are both delicious. The bread on the Reuben was not soggy by the time I got to eat it, which is rare as any place else I've gotten Reuben's to go, the bread is soggy by the time I get back to my office. This is definitely going to be my go to place for lunch from now on.

I have stopped here a few times for lunch while working in the area. SO glad I did. This is a bar and grill. So it would generally be burgers and fries type of fare. However, I tried their lunch soup and sandwich. They serve a delicious broccoli and cheese soup in. Magnificent homemade bread bowl! Oh sweet Lawd is this good! A ton of food for the money. Expect to take a nap when you’re done here. True diamond in the rough.

popped in for a late lunch - good and huge portions

This is a big surprise. The bread is baked fresh daily by an artisan baker and the sandwiches were huge, hot and very good. I understand the soup is a specialty, but it was too warm outside to try it at the time. Will be back

Great Gert’s! That Bread Bowl Soup!

Best sliders and sandwiches in town

Great place to have a beer, visit with friends. Great atmosphere, service and food.
Location is excellent , and the staff is very friendly. If you are in Johnson county south, a great visit!

Rustic, relaxed place to grab a great meal!

We were in Overland Park getting an evaluation on my dog at the clinic, and had a couple of hours while testing was being done. Just across the street was Gert's Grille. The vets office recommended the place, so we had lunch there. It was a cute place, reminding me of a rustic place in some of our little Kansas towns....wood floors, booths, and a big wooden bar. The waitress was full of energy, and very congenial with an awesome sense of humor. I ordered the 1/2 Reuben with a bread bowl of potato soup, and my brother got the club sandwich. Both sandwiches were very good (and huge!), but the soup was amazing!!!! It had large pieces of potato with bacon and was creamy and thick. Prices were very reasonable, but the ambiance, friendliness of the staff, and the quality of the food made it a great value!

It was just a typical sports bar. Nothing spectacular about the food. Service was fine. Didn't really ever feel like going back.
