Sep 2021 • Family
The family thoroughly enjoyed this venue. For a look back into 1800s farm life and early ham radio and electronics by a national and local celebrity, this is an amazing place to visit. We were given a guided tour conducted by volunteers very knowledgeable in the era and specifics of the farm and the people. Add the fact there was no charge and you just cannot beat this for a fun time.

Although only open May-June and Sept-Oct, this museum has something for everyone: very well-preserved 1875 pioneer cabin, 1890 peg barn and 1891 farm home. Members of the Ensor family were ham radio operators and the museum includes a number of radios from 1916 forward. Marshall Ensor also taught industrial arts and fabricated wooden bowls, vases, miniature doll furniture, etc.Local ham radio operators serve as tour guides and their fascination with the museum is evident. Picnic tables are available outside for a peaceful lunch under the shade trees.

This museum is in the Marshal Ensor farm. His story is interesting, though the quality of a visit depends on the volunteer woring that day. It is only open in the spring and fall.
