This is no longer the Lawrence Visitors Bureau. Don't know why, as it is on the main route in and out of town, easy access with a stop light, plenty of parking. This is the restored historic train depot for Lawrence, Kansas. It now houses the Lawrence Visitor Center. The architecture of this building is quite unique. We had family portraits taken with this building as a background several years ago and they were beautiful! The gardens surrounding the building are well kept and lovely. Take a good book with you and sit in the shade and enjoy the afternoon. A good place to visit.…

You should drop by the Visitor Center just to see the restored Union Pacific train depot. It's a gorgeous building an an appropriate spot to provide tourists with information on the area. And that they do very well. The host was most helpful outlining some things to see on our short visit and there's plenty of brochures and maps to pick up.…

This is a classic train depot building that was saved for destruction. after Amtrak moved the train stop to the East side of the city. It is now used as a tourist info building, with interesting displays about Lawrence history It is very attractive and welcoming with plenty of parking. It is over in North Lawrence.…
