Always fun, - a great place to spend an hour or a day! LOTS of excellent restaurants and shops. I highly recommend the shops selling handmade items and art, like Wonder Fair and Phoenix Gallery. You will have a great time visiting them, whether you...More

The restaurant choices are amazing. Watkins Museum is a great family adventure. Mass St. is especially beautiful at Christmas time.

I think Lawrence is considered the midwest. I can't think of a better place for a road trip than Lawrence. The downtown is Mass St and the nearby blocks. Plenty of restaurants and bars for entertainment. Don't miss Dusty Bookshelves or the movie theatre.

From living in Lawrence for years, the downtown area has grown more and more each year. Its a beautiful place for dinner or even an evening stroll. There's concerts on occasion and fun events frequently in the area. Great for all ages.

Mass Street is better than most “drags” in a university town. The street runs long—close to a mile—with so many restaurants, bars, and shops that you’d need weeks to visit all of them. Some restaurants are exceptional—e.g. Free State Brewing and Lady Bird (especially for...More

Not disappointed to show off this town to colleagues- they were taken with variety of shops, stores, bars, and restaurants. Historic, new, funky, and offbeat all together. Architecture has some gems (Egyptian Revival and Spanish Eclectic in particular). Only comment we have is Lawrence’s darkness,...More

Week Long Road Trip Through Kansas (3 Replies)
I am going to be driving through Kansas and expect to stay a week. What should I go see and visit? I love nature/scenery/food/culture. Here's what I have so far! Wilson State Park Monument Rocks Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve Massachusetts Street First Friday/Kansas City
