We spend time on Mass St multiple times a week. There are great places to eat, fun shops, and the best people watching in town. Beware: when KU is in session, weekends on Mass can get crazy, and parking becomes a bit of a pain in the neck. Stick to the side streets - there are parking garages on Vermont... More

Massachusetts Street in downtown Lawrence is the center of attention. The downtown area is unique, with a variety of shops and restaurants and vibrant culture. There are so many places to pop into and check out, and many choices of food to serve anyone's taste. You can also get a nice glimpse of the city's people, from all different walks... More

We walked down Mass street and over to Vermont. WE checked out the stores and restaurants. Only downside was that it was a Kansas summer day and over 90 degrees. They had a variety of shops, offices, and restaurants. Some of the store fronts were empty but not really bad considering the age of the town. There were historic sites... More

Feels like is it stuck in time when you walk the street, but once you look around you find interesting and trendy restaurants, bars and shops. It's a lot of fun to go there for an evening.

Mass streets is what makes Lawrence cool. Be sure to have breakfast at The Roost; visit The Burger Stand and Free State Brewery; see a show at The Grenada; and just people watch. Great area for college students and families when visiting.

Lawrence is a pleasant experience besides being home to KU Jayhawks, especially walking down Massachusetts from the Kansas River bridge to South Park, one side, then the other. Shopping cannot be matched by any mall as unique, local shops abound to satisfy everyone's preference and restaurants range from some fast food fare but many feature varieties of menu choices with locally... Plenty to see, shop and eat on "Mass". There are shops for visitors to browse, plenty of restaurants, eateries and bars for refreshment. There is a little something for everyone- clothing stores, antique shops, museums and specialty stores. If you are in Lawrence, Kansas you must visit Massachusetts Street!

On a pleasant summer day, Mass Street in Lawrence gets visitors from the suburbs of Kansas City (both Kansas and Missouri sides), and for good reason. It's the Real McCoy. Seven blocks of classic Americana storefronts, some dating back to the mid-1800s, and a selection of moderate to slightly upscale restaurants and shops that appeal to students and their visiting...
