We went with a group of 40 people and enjoyed the tour. We started in the chapel then toured the many rooms in the house. They broke us up into 3 groups of approx. 12 people and didn't feel too crowded.I didn't realized they had a bed that the Pope Saint Paul II slept on the TWA flight to America... More

We took the Christmas night tour of the mansion last week. What a find! The mansion's decorations were gorgeous . The tour guide grew up in the neighborhood and added many personal comments to the tour. There was a $20 fee which included the tour and a cookie and drink gathering in the main hall. Totally worth it. I think... More

We had read about this place in a local paper and thought it could be a fun thing to do on Saturday. Finally found the place in KC, KS, and sign in front said OPEN with the hours posted "Saturday and Sunday 12:30 - 4pm." We climbed the steep stairs going up to the front door and the place was... Strawberry Hill is an old Croatian neighborhood. They have a festival, every summer, with original foods to eat, etc. There is a small Cathedral to visit. It is an original neighborhood in Kansas City - & is a good place to take kids to experience 'early life'.

This place is FANTASTIC! A must see on the list of things to do in KC. Not only is this a great place to visit, we also had a baby shower here in the tea room that was wonderful! The atmosphere, the amazing service, the location and view...it was perfect! No matter young or old, everyone loved being here. I... More

This is a quaint museum that tells the story of Croation Immigration in the early 1900's who settled in the area known as Strawberry Hill. The museum has limited weekend hours but well worth a stop especially for history buffs and those of Slavic heritage. If you are visiting in the fall, be sure to check out the Strawberry Hill... This is a wonderful gem in Kansas City of Eastern European and European cultural heritage. The Lithuanian, Polish, Ukrainian, Slovenian and other exhibit rooms are amazing. What is so unique about this museum not only is its history and architecture, but that the museum is run completely by local volunteers and donations. The Pope's bed and room from the TWA... More

The museum is simply awesome, gorgeous and educational. If possible go see the museum between Thanksgiving and Christmas, every room is decorated to the NINES!!! Be sure to stop in the gift shop, lots of items of interest in there. The chapel and the staircase are amazing and if it is open, stop in the Tea Room for some relaxing... More

Never been anywhere like it. Our group had someone with us who'd grown up in the area, so we got a personal tour beyond the museum. Don't miss the historical quaint homes surrounding the museum on their 25' wide lots. A great walking tour. The cathedrals in the area are also gorgeous.

The museum contains a church, tea room and plenty of display rooms that take you on a historical journey of the eastern Europeans that settled in Kansas City, Kansas in an area referred to as "Strawberry Hill". The original clothing, old pictures, crafts are all on display and displayed artfully and respectfully throughout the rooms of this wonderful piece of... More
