The Kamouh have been in this city for a long time and now even the locals know its origin. The bad thing is that of course there are no cameras around so people wrote on it a lot and now the bottom half doesn't look very nice but from a distance, it makes a great picture. A solitary pyramid in the middle of nowhere.

...this lonely “pyramid” stands on a hill in the middle of nowhere in the most northern end of the Beqaa, inscriptions are not longer there so no one knows why it s there or what was meant to be, an intriguing mystery......worth visiting!

We had trouble, to find a taxi driver - to dangerous they said. In the end it was ok, we took some photos ... and that's all.

Hi, I am for a 2-month stay in Beirut and wish to visit the Kamouh el Hermel. I plan to go there with public transport, but several Lebanese disrecomended me from going there by myself, cause as foreigner you might face difficulties in that area.
Is there anyone who has experience of going there with public transport or by organised trips to this area?
Regards

Lebanese people don't rely on public transport, Hermel have a few attractions you can see them all in 1 day. I would suggest renting a car and having a local show you around. Asi river, Ain il zarka is where the river starts and the site is beautiful. Shalalet il Diradara are a place where the river form waterfalls. Der mar maroon is currently closed for renovations but is close to Ain il zarka. There is also rafting in the river.
