Three miles east of Worcester surrounded by glorious countryside and deer...

Three miles east of Worcester surrounded by glorious countryside and deer park lays one of Britain’s best-kept secrets. Spetchley is a garden for all tastes containing one of the biggest private collections of plant varieties outside the major botanical gardens. Spetchley is not a formal paradise of neatly manicured lawns or beds but rather a wondrous display of plants, shrubs and trees woven into a garden of many rooms and vistas. It is certainly an ever changing garden and one undergoing many changes. The Revival Project is in its infancy; a ten year project aimed at reviving Spetchley's wonderful legacy. Please follow us to see how we get on and come and visit to view this wonderful garden and watch its transformation.

We recently visited Spetcley Park Gardens with a group of approximately 30 people. The gardens are lovely and well worth a visit but the cafe experience was bad. We were asked to pre-order our lunches in order to save time queueing, which we all did, giving the individual times we would be at the cafe. Two of us arrived at 1pm... More

Thank you very much for your feedback. Whilst I am overjoyed that you found the garden to be a lovely day out I am sorry to hear of your bad experience in the Tea Room. We are indeed investigating this with the company. We have set out rules for how groups should be given the best service but these have... More

This is beautiful garden, particularly on a summers day. There are over 30 acres to walk around and a great mixture of informal and formal. It was suffering a little form the heat when we visited. I guess it would be great to visit in late May or early June too. The tea rooms are fantastic and serve excellent cake... More

What a delightful place to visit. The gardens are stunning with superb planting, beautiful vistas, interesting corners, ponds, lakes, sweeping lawns and a picturesque mansion house with a fascinating history. With entry at £6.50 concession or £7 adult ticket, it's easy to while away a couple of hours in such lovely surroundings. The audio guide was free and informative and... More

I am so glad that you enjoyed your visit to Spetchley and were able to view what we all think is a real gem. The last two years have seen the beginnings of a revival and whilst we have a long way to go we want as many people as possible to be able to share the experience with us.... More

My wife and I found this a delightful place to visit on a fine summer day, several hours of relaxed pleasure. The mixed bag of reviews in this column is understandable, perhaps. Stourhead this is not, but neither does it hit you with Stourhead admission prices! If you are looking for immaculate, don’t come. This is clearly a work in... More

Thank you for your review. It really does help to hear feedback that sums up how we, ourselves, view Spetchley. It is a wonderful place to come and relax. It is a wonderful place to see some huge species collections. It is a wonderful place to see some of the more rare plants. It is also a very special place... More

After visiting Stratford-Upon-Avon and whilst driving on to Worcester my Wife and I noticed an interesting sign for an area that looked worth investigating. Confronted by a tastefully graveled car park area we walked into a visitor centre which turned out to be the entrance to Spetchley Park Gardens. There was little to see from the entrance and it looked... More

I struggle to understand why there is no feedback on the state of the gardens? To pay £7 to view gardens which are full of weeds and looks as though most areas have not been maintained for months is quite shocking. The site has so much potential - but terribly let down by lack of maintenance. The tea room was... More

Thank you for your very honest review. As I always maintain, we only learn about our garden from reviews from all angles, whether good or bad. As you will know the garden is a charity. It does have limited resources and that is why we have driven to build our volunteer base in order to try and ensure that the... More

What an interesting place to visit take a picnic it's well worth it.Our 40 year old and our 30 tear old daughters thoroughly enjoyed finding the fairy houses for our 18 month old granddaughter. The grounds are kept very clean and tidy . Unfortunately no dogs allowed but this means you can let your little ones run and play. I... More

Live in Worcester but never been before .Loved it - like the lay out ,more to see than you realise .Service in the tea room was excellent - we sat in the garden as weather was great .The trees and roses were amazing . It would be good if there were more labels to name the trees and some of... More

Thank you so much for your review and I am glad you enjoyed your first visit. SPETCHLEY is not as well know as other attractions in Worcestershire but our profile is increasing. The garden is different to many better known gardens. It is very much a plantsman's garden and not an ornate, well manicured oasis. We have added the Reuben... More

Sorry there is no detail...it was just awful and don't want to dwell on the place. Visited Cearny House gardens the day before which was lovely.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you had a terrible time at Spetchley and found our staff to be rude and ignorant. We have excellent staff with great manners who are wonderfully helpful as shown by the excellent feedback we receive on them both on trip Advisor and in the visitor feedback forms that visitors fill out.... Came here with a friend who spotted it whilst out on a drive. Nice old church, and area around tea room very nice. Clearly caters for wedding parties as there is a huge difference between the gardens at the front, and the rest of the gardens. As a keen gardener, I know that at this time of year it's almost...
