This was our first trip with Midland Railway. I bought tickets for the Polar Express online, over a month in advance. When I went to check my email/ticket confirmation for our ride on Sunday, I learned that I had accidentally bought tickets for Friday and we had missed our scheduled ride. I didn't have any luck getting ahold of someone on the phone, so we went and my husband talked to someone inside and they were able to let us ride since there were some no-shows! No hassle, no stress, they really took care of us! The pre-ride experience is great, you can take photos at numerous spots and get snacks, etc. The actors on the train were great and very enthusiastic! It was engaging throughout the entire ride. The biggest surprise to me, was the North Pole setup when we "arrived!" They had a city outline set up that looked just like the book, with Santa's sleigh, reindeer, and elves dressed in red outside the window! My 3-year-old's face was priceless when he saw this, he truly believed he was at the North Pole! Santa came on the train and visited each child, and we headed back! We would absolutely do this again with our family. What a great experience!

Such a delightful event for children of all ages
This was the first year I managed to get tickets and hope I’m lucky again in the future as each year there will be more grandkids old enough to go!

Dec 2022 "Snow Globe Express". Did the "Polar Express" with grandkids a few years ago. First class operation. In 2022, re-done as the Snow Globe Express. No amenities on the 30 minute train ride to "Santa's Reindeer Farm". Got dropped off out in the cold for 45 minutes. Bought some cold, $4 "hot" chocolate. There were reindeer, cows, kangaroos, zebra, llama's in un-lite pens. A price for everything.

Many families there with small children and obviously on a budget trying to do something special. Not very many smiles. Lots of comments about a waste of money and when will it be over.

No refunds! Operator cancelled the trip, said it was due to rain and didn’t want the liability should a ticket holder get hurt. No advance notice of cancellation. Said we could book another date which would be OK if we didn’t drive 200 miles to get there and unlikely we will be back in the area before the seasonal excursion ends. Website says “pay it forward to a friend” if you can’t use your tickets. Since we are not from the area that too would be difficult. An expensive disappointment.

We attended this train ride and Santa embarressed and called out our son for his clothes. I have it on video. We were dressed in our Sunday best and Santa asked a child if he was going to a funeral. Midland Railway has yet to call me back. I have called 7 times and sent 4 emails. I HAVE VIDEO PROOF and yet Midland doesn't care how they treat you.I keep calling and emailing. No one calls back or replies. Santa called out a child for wearing a suit on a train. Literally asked a child "Are we at a funeral" How inappropriate and THEY DONT CARE!

I took my daughter on this ride (wife and son were visiting family). My daughter loves trains so I thought this would be a way for her to experience it.The first and most important, she enjoyed it quite a lot. Her favorite part was simply looking out the window. She participated in some of the activities. She would have rated it 4-5 stars. My experience was a bit different. I am guessing there is 16" of leg room between rows of seats facing each other. That would be my biggest complaint. It was a fun experience to see such an old train (our car, the Comet, was built in 1929) and see the Kansas countryside from a different perspective.

I had taken my grandchildren and they loved it. The only complaint I have is if you don’t have an even number in your party, you will be separated, and they said they would call and never received a call for seating. Unfortunately our party of five didn’t sit together, but was close by.
