So many people especially young lads went to war and never came back. From British to south african, to Australia and New Zealand's. not forgetting the German cemetery at fricourt where the Red Baron was laid to rest with full honour before being moved back to Germany .

A beautiful cemetery very well kept by the CWGC with a cemetery register making it easier to find the man your looking for. Even a visitors book for people to leave photos of relatives and people always leave flowers by graves as a sign of love.

I have visited many military cemeteries over the last four years and this one is special and close to my heart because it is where my grandfather is buried. It is immaculately kept as are all of the CWGC sites and occupies a nice site which you can see appear just as you come over the hill on the road from Montauban-de-Picardie to Longueval. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

We Will Remember Them.
A beautifully kept CWGC Cemetery.
Well worth a visit if you are in the area - in fact - a must see.

We visited the grave of our Great Grandad on the 25th August who died at the Somme. The Cemetery was very well kept and small enough to remember our lost ones.

As with all CWGC sites, this is a well looked after cemetery. In a lovely peaceful area, a fitting memoriam to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

It was always on my bucket list to visit the grave of my great uncle who fought and died for his country in WW 1

Bernafay Wood British Cemetery is a small, lonely but sheltered place. Open fields on three sides, with the lane and a small wood on the fourth. The small wood, on the other side of the lane, offers some shelter on that fourth side - where there is a small area to park a car. We went there to visit an Essex Regiment lad, who is commemorated on his village's war memorial.

On the side of a hill the graves overlook the valley and wood where the guys were fighting for, very peaceful.
