We planned a visit here because of the Sullivan Brothers museum, but then discovered all the OTHER fine and interesting exhibits under the same roof! You don't have to spend half a day in this museum, but you may easily be tempted to! We did. Very friendly staff, and a nice gift shop. Parking was a bit tricky and confined,... More

Grout and Iowa Veterans Museum. Has two parts, Iowa Veterans museum, and Grout an over-all historical museum for Waterloo, Iowa and the area. Both are good only the veteran part is new and more up to date. The Veterans Museum starts with wars in this order Civil War, Spanish American War, World War 1, World War 2, Korea, Vietnam War,... Great place to read about various wars, Iowan's who participated, Iowa companies that provided support, etc. Great interactive exhibits, videos, displays, etc. A planetarium is also in the museum but we missed the presentation. There is also a great history of the Waterloo area. Well worth the visit.

As a Navy veteran I am always excited when I come across anything Navy-related. The story of the Sullivan brothers is one all should know. You can read it, you can see the movie but to visit this museum is worth the time in my view. I watched the short movie in their theatre, look at all the exhibits on... More

This museum should make anyone get a better understanding of what our military has done over the years. Videos, interactives and great displays. Very nice helpful staff. Proud to say they have accepted some artifacts of my fathers from WWII. A must see for all that are old enough to appreciate and understand.

It's a nice museum. Lots to read and learn. It really isn't for kids. They got bored very easy. There wasn't much for them to do which made it hard for us to read all the materials we wanted to.

What a well put together museum! A great mix of interactive options and displays to read and look at. Videos are set up with motion detectors, and there is bench seating wherever there are videos. Took in the planetarium show which lasted not quite an hour. You sure can tell the care, time, and pride that went in to creating... More

This museum is interactive, modern and well thought out. It tells great stories in a way that's engaging for audiences of all ages. It's not a dusty basement full of "old stuff" like so many military museums.

Great place to take your grandchildren. My husband is a Vietnam vet and he really enjoyed it. The displays were awesome.
