Attended a wedding here. Very friendly volunteers and staff. The train memorabilia is fun. Got to ride on the mini railroad from the wedding ceremony to the reception. Don't miss the model train building. So many scales and different scenes to see. Well worth the trip.

This is an ongoing dream and development of what will be a great museum. Read your map carefully and arrive there with more than 30 minutes to see it. We will return!

Took my 12 year old grandson who loves trains to this site and he had a ball. He couldn't get enough and wanted to stay much longer than we did. The set up is done very nicely and we want to go back next year when they get the little train up and going on the completed track

The railroad museum is a great outing for the entire family. Children will enjoy the full size steam engine and riding a miniature train. Adults will enjoy the history of the railroad in the Sioux City area.

It's been a year or so since I last visited, but from the web page you can see they've got lots to visit and it was great when I last stopped. Web site: siouxcityrailroadmuseum.org

We traveled up from Omaha where we are vacationing and this is one of the places we planned to visit but was closed although the website stated it was open. If you plan on visiting call ahead to make sure they are actually open.

There is a lot of history here. Worth a visit for anyone interested in trains. The heart of this museum is a really neat old roundhouse and turntable (that still turns). It's something that you just don't see every day. They also have a very impressive steam engine and a caboose and boxcar that you can go inside. There is... More

The tour guide was very informative. Got to step up inside a train, ring the bell. A lot history here. Got to get a ride on the railcar and a ride on the turntable. Had a nice model train set up in the building.
