I loved that theater. What a beautiful place to visit. The seating is excellent and you have a wonderful view of the stage from every seat in the house.

This is an incredible place to watch any type of performance. Everything in the place is restored. Beautiful chandeliers and brass lighting. The sound is amazing in the theater. Some performances allow you to bring your drink into the theater. I have seen rock concerts, musicals, orchestras and church precessions inside here. Each of them seems even better because of the atmosphere they are being performed in. …

I came here from out of town with a friend of mine to see Paramore. The Orpheum Theater is absolutely stunning. It’s very ornate and extremely clean. We were sat on the floor in row Q and I was surprised at just how close it actually ended up being. In my experience with theaters, these rows under the balcony can feel like miles away. The Orpheum Theater has been a downtown Sioux City landmark for generations. The restoration efforts transformed this attraction into an impressive facility with glittering chandeliers and a staircase worthy of a royal entrance. I feel like Cinderella every time I descend the carpeted stairs into the lobby. We have attended numerous concerts and shows at the Orpheum. Pro: Beautiful and historic theater with a variety of entertainment scheduled Con: You need to walk 2-3 blocks to find available parking. Lots of stairs and tiny seats with little leg room. My husband is 6'2" and doesn't fit in the seats very well.…

Please Sioux Cityans, know the gem that you have here. I attended many movies here in the 50's and 60's, sitting mostly in the balcony (the tickets may have been cheaper). I returned for my 50th reunion and we got a private tour of every nook and cranny. Added highlight was up close and hearing the Whirlitzer being played. The backstage area was incredible with the wall being signed by past performers. Lots of really big names. Not only is the venue one of the best in the country but the acoustics are incredible. I'm told that one very famous performer (may have been Tony Bennett -forgot, sorry) handed over mic to sound tech at the beginning of the performance and continued without. Thank you to all who worked to fund the restoration of the fabulous venue. I wish it was in the Los Angeles area.…
