Although this museum is small it has a great set of animatronic figures who bring life to the exhibits. There are a number of things for the children to do and see while learning about the history of Lewis and Clark.

Very difficult to get to from the north as it was on the south side of the interstate. Most underpasses with closed due to construction. Go west about 4 underpasses to get through. Pour signage. It's the first parking lot east past the welcome center's...More

Great building great staff some interesting displays but certainly. Could use updating of displays while many of the items were interesting the placement of animal displays did not allow for any decent photography with an cell phone.

This is a great place to visit. Not only does it tell about the Lewis & Clark expedition, but it has hands on activities as well as moving and talking displays. The dog, Seaman, is especially fun to have bark and wag it’s tail.

We found the L&C Center a very interesting experience and we learned many things about their journey. We wished we had more time to thoroughly enjoy the entire facility. The statues outside were also very interesting.

Two centers connected inside with two entrances, so a little confusing from the outside. Once inside whichever entrance you used, I highly recommend you see both the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center and the Betty Strong Encounter Center. We went for the Lewis & Clark...More

Interesting presentations and certainly interactive (I'm a 65 year old kid). It seems everywhere along the Missouri River you can find a Louis and Clark stopping spot. A good place to take the kids particularly with the park grounds surrounding the Center.

There are not many things for toddlers. Some exhibits have "Do not touch" signs. I would think that toddlers would not do well there.

Searching or a restaurant close to Lewis and Clark Center (4 Replies)
We will be coming through Great Falls and stopping in at the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. From what I can gather, there is no restaurant in the center. Can someone give us some suggestions for somewhere to stop for lunch nearby? (with children!!) Thanks! Julie

Everywhere is a short drive in Great Falls. My daughter enjoys eating at MacKenzie River Pizza. My friend's kids like On The Border. As an adult I enjoy both.

Any Cape Disappointment fans out there? (6 Replies)
Wondering whether it would be worth driving out to the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center from Astoria before heading over to the Oregon coast in September?

I personally love Cape Disappointment and Long Beach. I am, however, a huge history buff. Those less interested may not share my enthusiasm.

Best route from Glendive to Great Falls (0 Replies)
Google maps shows the fastest way is Glendive to Circle and then taking Hwy 200 and Hwy 87 to Glendive. In reading a book about scenic drives in MT, I saw the Kings Hill Scenic Byway mentioned. Is it worth a longer drive to include it? Route looks to be I-94, then Hwy 12, then Hwy 89/Kings Hill Byway to Great Falls. Or would you suggest a different route that either of these two? Might help to explain our plans: Traveling July 2018 - main destination of this trip is Glacier Nat'l...More
