About
Sweden has a large variety of nature and animals which I see as a luxury we can all enjoy. Wild Nordic is a company with a penchant for scenery and wildlife, a hope to see the wilderness highlights, together with a quest to get more people to see the beauty of nature. Our activities take place in Mid-Sweden, which is rich in animal and bird life, together with deep vast forests.

I spent one night in the bear watching hut. The main purpose was to see the bears, and I did. I stayed awake for 16 hours straight. The bears came for 28 minutes during the darkest window, from 1:40 to 2:08. Therefor the pictures are not good. Nevertheless, it was a great experience to watch a family of 3 wild bears so close. At a point the mom bear came just 2 meters in front of my window.
The Wild Nordic team was very professional and friendly. I was greeted at their office, which has a great exhibition of pictures, videos and a guessing game about local animals. I had a small lunch and tea there, before we took the 10 minutes drive and 5 minutes walk to the hut. 16 hours later a guide picked me up and we drove back to the main quarters for breakfast and review.
The hut was very professionally equipped. There were several bean bags, binoculars, gimbals or the big lense, bird books etc. There are 4 beds to rest, which if I had used, I would have missed the bears. I understand that the hut can be booked for up to 4 people. We were just two, which was perfect. I personally think that it would be a challenge, if more than 2 people are in the hut. There is space for just 2 people in the middle section, and most action is in that middle section. In case you go there with more than two, you should agree how to exchange the spot - quietly - when something interesting shows up.
Apart from the bears, I saw the badger, also at night, the fox appeared just shortly, there were several squirrels that come very close and plenty of forest birds.
A great thanks to Sara and her team.

Thank you for your nice words! We are really happy that you had a good experience! The hide takes 4 people, but only as a company. Its no problem when you are a family or a group of friends. We o only put 1+1 together, no more, when its guests who dont know each other. Thats so you can watch/sleep in turns, for safety & to have enough space. Thanks again for your visit!

The Wild Nordic team is enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge. The atmosphere at the site is familial and nice. The hides are well equipped.
I stayed at the waterstation hide one night and saw lots of birds, squirrels and even a fox briefly. Unfortunately, the badger didn't show up. But I was lucky that the hawk came by several times and I was even able to take a head-portrait of him, he was so close - that was a very special encounter.
In the Bärenhide I had no luck (perhaps because of the change in the weather) and didn't see a bear. But that's nature, I didn't want to see circus bears ... But I was able to catch a glimpse of a fox, I could watch woodpeckers and jays feeding the young and see a voracious squirrel. A young common buzzard sat on a branch and called for its parents.
Overall it was a nice nature experience and I was happy.

I had an amazing stay with Sara at Wild Nordic! I stayed for 4 nights in the bnb, and went to the waterstation and buzzard watching. I also did a long hike in the area. Wild Nordic is a very nice way of exploring Swedish nature, would definitely recommend!

After a long period of anticipation, the time had finally come. On July 12th we went to WildNordic for bear watching. We received a warm welcome from Pierrick, the French on the team. First we could admire Sara's beautiful WildLife photos. We were served a wonderful sandwich and after an introduction and an interesting quiz we went to the observation hut in the forest. After Pierrick had hidden the snacks and hung up our game camera, he left us alone in the hut. The cabin was very comfortable and perfectly equipped for wildlife viewing. There was a lot to see. Birds such as ravens, jays, great spotted woodpeckers, bullfinches, greenfinches, thistlefinches and chaffinches we were able to observe very closely. A buzzard also passed by. During the night we could also observe a moose bull that only came within a few meters of the hut. Very bright binoculars were available in the hut, so that we were able to make good observations even in the dark. Squirrels were also good to watch and we had a red fox on the game camera. Unfortunately, a bear couldn't come by, it was probably too wet for him, it rained all night. Nevertheless, this night was a unique experience. We had seen a lot up until then, puffins on Skomer Island in Wales, gray seals on Helgoland or wolves in Lusatia in East Germany, but this night will remain unforgettable. Pierrick picked us up again in the morning and we had a lovingly prepared breakfast at WildNordic. Afterwards we could exchange a few words with Sara. Unfortunately, most people have lost the connection to nature, don't know much about the connections in nature and how important a high biodiversity is for an intact nature and thus also important for the livelihood of all of us. WildNordic's work is very valuable for nature conservation and the offers make a major contribution to bringing people, especially children, closer to nature and showing them how they are connected.
We would like to say a big thank you to Sara and her team for the great time at WildNordic. A special thanks to Pierrick, especially for his patience in communicating with us as we speak very, very poor English. He enthusiastically told us about his experiences and activities in nature, and we noticed how much he was connected to nature and how much he loved it. One thing is certain: we will be back!

Had such a great night in the water hide, small birds, including Crested Tit, Nuthatch, Treecreeper, Woodpecker, chaffinch and Jay all showed up before dark. When the lights were on, there was fox activity, although too far away for photography. Badgers did make an appearance, but only to grab some meat and run away again. Later in the night, I thought my luck was in, the badger was coming down the track, however, a couple of foxes prevented him from coming close to the hide. Early morning saw some really heavy rain, but small birds showed up again, plus a couple of young red squirrels. All in all, a great night and as always with nature, there are no guarantees. Highly recommend a visit if in the area, you won't be disappointed.

Sara and her team really took care of us. We’ve had an inspiring day at Sara’s place with nature in focus. Wild Nordic latest project is very cool, something with water mirror and photography, definitely something to experience yourself!

Wild Nordic is bringing you the most uncommon wildlife in front of you, at about 5 meters. Chances during winter of seeing and photographing the gos hawk are highly likely. The pine marten can also make it's way to the cabins. Coziness it's at it's best, even during winter, because the cabin is heated. This has been a wonderful experience!

Spent a great two days in the bear hide at Wild Nordic. We were looked after well from start to finish. The hide was comfortable even in the extremely hot weather that we experienced. We got to see a bear in the wild but also a lot of birds in the forest. I would recommend this experience to anyone interested in nature. Everything that was needed was provided in the hide including binoculars, bird books etc. Go to Wild Nordic and have a great time!!!!!!

We love safaris but due to the situation we have in the word we needed to find safari on our home turf. Sara the owner of Wild Nordic is extremely passionate and professional in making sure you get to see bears and accommodate your needs as customer. I can say this was a truly an amazing experience we stayed there for 2 nights first night we saw 2 bears, a badger and lots of birds. Night 2 we saw 5 different bears, 3 foxes and lot of birds and squirrels. The bears are coming up really close so be very quiet.. I can truly recommend this experience and my self will be back in winter to see eagles..

A brilliant stay with Sara and the team - I stayed for two nights in the B&B (which is very comfy and I was well-looked-after), and a night in the bear hide. Staying in the hide overnight is quite a special experience in itself, and I managed to see all kinds of wildlife including bears, red squirrels, woodpeckers and a badger. It was wonderful to see these animals roaming around in the wild and to see how much the team cares about the animals.
