Not to be missed, the hike from town through the botanical garden to the statue. Magic happens as soon as you cross the bridge. The view from the top is gorgeous.
You get a lot of bang from little effort to reach there. I love the quaintness of Jerico. Very few foreigners pass through.

Definitely go through the Botanical garden to get there....just keep going up and turn right after the house. Lovely views from here...several sides. Cable car here but not working!

Easy to stop her on the way in or out of town. The teleferico has been out of service for awhile and there is some litter and no landscaping so it feels a bit forlorn. Still worth a visit for some orientation.

A great place to go to see all of Jerico spread out before you. An idela place to stop on the way into town from Medellin to get a feel for the town.

Just 20 minutes walking from the city center you will find this statue.
From above you have a great view on the village and the surrounding mountains.
We weren’t there with the sunset but that must be even more spectacular.

The walk up the hill is not strenuous at all and only takes maybe ten minutes, so wear whatever you want. Better yet, most of the walk goes through Jericó’s botanical gardens, which are an attraction in their own right.

And the view of the town from the top is actually better than it is from Cerro las Nubes.

This should be first thing you do upon arriving at Jericó (…after you check into your hotel, duh.) For a complete guide on Jericó, including locations of the town's many artisanal foods, info on "The Coffee Farm at the End of the World," and where to stay and eat, google The Unconventional Route's travel guide to Jericó.

The hill of the Christ offers an excellent view of the town and surrounding area. There is a small shop with a friendly man who has snacks and drinks. The hike up is relatively easy and short (on the other hand, the hike up Cerro las Nubes is much more extreme!). Unfortunately, the cable-car is no longer working.
