We drove to the parking lot where there is also a small but interesting shop and washrooms. There are several paths to the lighthouse which is a reconstruction of the original lighthouse. One can enter and explore the rooms as they were originally. Along the paths there are some signs telling about the history of the lighthouse and also some... More

We really enjoyed the drive out to this lighthouse from Port-Aux-Basques - especially the beautiful views and hikes along the way. The location of the lighthouse and view of Rose-Blanche was spectacular, and there were interesting information panels along the short trail to the lighthouse. The lighthouse itself was only just fine - it is a modern reconstruction of an... More

If you like lighthouses, you should add the Rose Blanche Lighthouse to your "must see" list. It sits, imposing and impressive, on a steep cliff, The lighthouse is on a steep cliff, with its tower rising 95 feet above sea level. Designed by Scottish engineers and built in 1871 using local granite, it operated from 1873 to the 1940s, guiding... More

Went there when the light house was close but followed some locals onto the paths. The veiws made up for not getting inside and we spent a good hour just staring off into the ocean.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Inn in September. We were the only travelers staying here for the evening so had access to the whole property. A bonus was laundry facilities and a local fisherman provided us with delicious cod, which we were able to prepare ourselves at the Inn. The views from the cliffs are magnificent and... More

We stayed in Rose Blanche for 4 days and almost missed going to this lighthouse. A very nice trail gets you near or right up to this magnificent lighthouse. If you enjoy water, and rocks, and like photography. do not miss this.

This is a lighthouse built of rock with the lighthouse keepers house as part of it. Most lighthouses in the area seem to be separate from the keepers house, so this one is special. You can go inside and get an idea of what life was like in these outposts. It is rough road to get there, but worth the... More

We decided to spend a night at the Rose Blanche LIghthouse B & B before catching the morning ferry from Port aux Basques. It is truly one of the most beautiful places in the world - with the lighthouse high on a rock on the edge of the ocean. The community has created wonderful walking trails throughout the area. Both... More

The windswept beauty of lighthouses attracts us every time, and this one did not disappoint. Far from the customary white and red beacons that are so common, this historical lighthouse has been completely restored to the beautiful granite structure that it originally was. Even the interior has been recreated to showcase the rooms and household items that 19th century lighthouse... More

I travelled to visit the Rose Blanche lighthouse from Port Aux Basques and it took about 45 minutes along a very winding, but scenic road. The lighthouse is located up on the rocks a short walk from the parking lot. To get to it you have to walk one of two paths. Both paths provide excellent views and opportunity to... More
