My husband and I took our son and 6 year old granddaughter to Spook Cave this summer. We had a wonderful guide in the boat, and he made the "Old Joe Smiley" story a little less spooky after he had observed our granddaughter's "big eyes"...More

Very cool and exciting for kids. Would highly recommend for youngsters. I didn’t stay there just went for the cave tour. Guide was very knowledgeable and very nice. If you have a bad back or don’t like cramped places this would not be an ideal...More

The Spook Cave tour was fun. Our guide was funny & knew her stuff. She gave us one good scare, which my 6 year old daughter survived. I won't give it away, but it happens fast & then you can laugh about it. Beware if...More

Luckily we weren't trapped like the poor boy scouts in Thailand. Spook cave is completely safe and quite spooky. One enjoys it via boat. The headroom is low in places, so adults will need to lean down. Spooky elements make it fun for children.

No those are the only two cabins that do not have a bathroom. You use the main bathroom/shower house a short distance away, thanks.

The tour is 35 minutes in length, yes there are restrooms. The tours usually leave after a 20 minute wait at the longest. Labor Day weekend can get busy with the possibility of a little longer wait in the afternoon.

In McGregor, Ia there not only is Spook Cave, but there is Pikes Peak State Park. Located at Pikes Peak is an amazing overlook of the Mississippi and Wisconsin Rivers. There is also 13 (+) miles of hiking. You can also stay in the park at the State run campgrounds! People come from all over the state and country for that matter, and end up coming to this area and commenting on the beauty of this place. I am sad that whoever it is that writes about places to visit in this area, omitted Pikes...More

Hi, I've camped at Pike's Peak (Iowa) a few times. Great place. It is the first, and less famous Peaks...founded by the same man. The camp was well maintained. The bathrooms were better than most I've seen. Kept very well. Real close to the gambling boat..I don't indulge, but the luncheon bar was great. There are many great places in northeastern Iowa.
