We stopped at the park when it was a cold, rainy day in late November. We were the only people there, but that was OK. The views from the overlooks were spectacular. We plan to return when the weather is better to camp and hike the many trails in the park.

I've come to view and hike here MANY times over several decades but still enjoy it every time! Don't think I've ever gone in November, but still nice, just much colder. There are some great trails that require doing lots of steps. There is a lot you of areas with no steps and great views of the river. Also picnic... More

Great campground, good size well kept campsites. Great day use, picnic tables, BBQs, new bathrooms. Views to oooh and aaah over, with several view points right near the parking lot as well as other vantage points accessed by short walks. And so much history, this is a must see spot just a few miles north of Marquette, Iowa on the... More

The scenic overlooks were amazing. The Mississippi was quite humbling. The park is easy to get to. There are paved walking trails so anyone can enjoy it. Great place to have a picnic with the family, or just let your kids get outdoors. Take your time and enjoy the view. You will love it.

Easy to get to. Beautiful drive there. Plenty of parking. Parking area gets u right to the highest lookout so no hiking if u prefer not to. Trails easily marked. Took a walk to the falls. Easy and a must see. So peaceful and relaxing. Next time we will go when the fall leaves are in full peak!

The scenic overlook views never get old, no matter how times you have been here. Parking lots are close by, making it a quick stop.

We stumbled upon this state park while visiting other attractions along the Mississippi River a few years ago. It is a beautiful place to walk, run, bike, picnic...that is what we did!! We also enjoyed watching a plethora hummingbirds at the feeder--over 30!!

Pikes Peak is a lovely place to visit to get a great view of the Mighty Mississippi River. The drive up is a little steep but it is worth the drive. There is the lookout where you can sit and watch the events on the Mississippi. The wonderful bridges and the beauty of nature. This is located at McGregor, Iowa.... More

Beautiful park with an easy walk to some lookouts over the Mississippi River. Nice picnic areas and bathrooms. A short walk brought us to some pretty little falls. A longer hike took us into some very pretty hills. Well worth a day trip.
