Great views

State park w/ electric only RV spots. Hiking trails, small interpretive center. Convenient to fishing, shopping, restaurants, historic sites.

Beautiful view

An Eagles Eye View of the Mississippi

Wondering what week may be best for peak colors, know it is a crap shoot for predicting color but am flying into Iowa in October for a few days. Can be flexible on dates: either October 8-14 or October 17-24. Thanks

Most states have a color monitoring website you can check where they make a guess at when the color will develop. I don't know if Iowa has one, but you should look for it.

I would not recommend swimming in the Mississippi River. Current seemed too fast.
