We enjoyed the tour of Meredith Willson's Boyhood Home in conjunction with visiting Music Man Square. We had a great guide, and we received a wealth of information about the history of the home and the family.

Loved being able to walk around the house and see all of it, including the attic....my favorite part of the museum.

I was unaware of the story of Meredith Wilson however the home and music man square provide a vast amount of insight. Original pieces in the home as well as well educated tour guides provide a vast amount of back story as well as individual stories for each member of the family.

We arrived very late in the day, but convinced our docent to take us through. We had a half hour and it sufficed for the 2 of us to walk through and see the home. Lots of original items and photos of the family. We heard several interesting stories. Our docent was fantastic - friendly, knowledgeable. Photography allowed as long... More

The home is nicely restored. The docents give good information. Merideth Wilson is a favorite son of Mason City. Just nothing here that is really greatly interesting.

This home must be viewed with the Music Man Museum (single cost of admission). Originally, we thought we could bypass it, but once in, the docent provided us with a very informative and humorous tour. Naturally, Willson's Music Man history was prominent, but the tour was also valuable for the general historical significance of the house style. It's not one... More

Mason City wisely placed Music Man Square adjacent to the boyhood home of Meredith Wilson since they do go together. Meredith Wilson was the master that wrote the beloved musical Music Man This house built in 1895 has been beautifully restored so you can appreciate the Queen Anne style.

I'm not sure why I got credited with a separate review for Willson's Boyhood Home among my contributions listed on my Trip Advisor profile. I simply included our tour of Willson's home in my review of Music Man Square, posted on Sept. 8, 2013. The tour was included, by the way, in the $6 ticket price for Music Man Square,... More
