Luckily I had someone local to direct me up to this park and the FABULOUS overlook of the Mississippi River. There are a couple hairpins turns that large RVs will have an issue with. It's steep. But once you're up here you could spend hours just watching the river or bird watching. Picnic tables at the top - plan to stay a while.

This is a lovely city park in Lansing. While visiting a friend who lives in Lansing, he informed me that the view from the top of Mt. Hosmer is quite spectacular. When he drove me there, parked his car in the parking lot at the lovely park and picnic area at the top, and walked with me to the overlook of the Miss. R., I realized that he hadn't exaggerated. What a spectacular view in both directions! If you ever get to Lansing, a drive (or a hike) to the top of Mount Hosmer, would be well worth your time and effort.

I always forget how many islands there are in this section of the Mississippi. There were two great views... From the park and about halfway up the drive to the park.

I drove up in a 25' motor coach. Fortunately, there's very little traffic today which made it doable, but the road is narrow and the turns are a bit tight which made it almost impossible to stay in my lane all the way up to the park. Also, the road at the entrance is very steep with a very tight turn almost immediately... Keep that in mind if you have a big rig or something in tow.

What a wonderful place to stop and watch a barge travel up the Mississippi. We were lucky enough to spot a bald eagle in flight as well. It's well worth the drive up the mountain for the great view.

This is a beautiful park atop the cliff along the Mississippi River. There is an overlook partway up and even more great views from the top. You can see the bridge, Lansing, the marina, Wisconsin and hundreds of acres of Mississippi River backwaters. There are two areas with monuments to veterans and a large US flag. There are flush bathrooms, picnic areas and some hiking trails. This park is a must-see while you are in Lansing.

The drive to the top is steep in parts, but totally worth the view. A very pleasant area for a picnic, walk, or sightseeing.

What a well kept memorial park! The 4 of us come up here frequently to take in all it has to offer from the view, memorials, as well as 3 enjoyable hiking trails. It also has a playground for the kids to burn some energy while mom and dad unpack a picnic lunch in the shelter.

Great park with amazing views of Mississippi and of WI and IA, also very cool WW1 and armed forces memorials. There are 3 different hiking trails in memory of 3 service men from area who died in combat but they are hard to find. Great playground. Road is very narrow up to park.

I discovered this area around Lansing, Iowa, just by chance. Driving from Lanesboro, MN, through the north of the Iowa State we stopped in Lansing before crossing the bridge to Wisconsin. The nature there is just stunning! I wish I could have stayed there over night. A charming little city in a colorful nature in autumn. Plan to go back there one day!

Great place to walk through the park. Both paved trails and non paved paths. We found several great areas to view the river. It was a healthy walk if you walk it. I would recommend a car if you have problems with hills.
