A little out of the way but go and see!

Worth the journey, not a large place but all the crafts are first class. Definitely not the run of the mill. Very interesting and very unusual stuff, loved it.

I come down to Somerset quite frequently and this place is always on the itinerary. They rotate their providers and so there is usually something new to see. I have picked up some interesting pieces here to take home. Prices are good. Even if you don't buy, it's interesting to have a look and they have a cafe on site.

Local craftsmanship is well displayed here from paintings and photographs to stunning jewellery and sculptures. There is a small coffee shop on site too but it's not currently open on Mondays, however the shop staff will make you a coffee if you are desperate for a caffeine fix.

Visited the craft centre by chance, as our day out centred on the Levels and RSPB sites. However this place is well worth a visit with beautiful crafts and art work on display and for sale with good price points. Just the thing for a unique gift. I especially liked Anita Pegler's sensitive water colours, but there's much more to... More

This centre is in the heart of the Somerset Levels, very close to the Nature reserves at Shapwick Heath and Westhay. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the art within is all sourced locally and often reflects local themes. The area is famous for the Starling Murmuration and the abundance of wildlife. The themes are reflected in the... More

We visited here by chance. It's easy to find near the village of Westhay and is on the same site as the Avalon Marshes nature centre. Somerset Crafts is run by helpful and friendly volunteers and one of its aims is to showcases local arts and crafts talent. During my visit there were lots of paintings, some pottery and fine... This is a large building which is divided into sections with many different artist showing their work/skills. We went midweek and it was a little quiet but it does give you time to look and appreciate the quality of work. There is a little cafe and an inside and outside seating area. Next to it is the information building. There... More

visited Saturday 1st February 2014 3pm In spite of what you have read in the news, there are some parts of the Somerset levels that are above water. One such is a delightful arts and crafts centre exclusively stocked with "Somerset's finest creative work". I cannot vouch for the finest but I can say that the artworks both pottery and... More
