Was shocked to find this in a Iowa City. This is a great museum to visit on a rainy day. The place is maintained very well and is clean. If you're interested in checking this place out I would go for it.

The museum is very interesting. A lot of information on how Iowa was formed geographically. There are many life size depictions of people and their lifestyles in those days. Some very big animals also exist in the Museum.

I owe a great debt of gratitude to this museum, which helped foster a lifelong passion for Natural History, and for these sorts of museums.I frequented it regularly as a child in the 1960's. I now live a few blocks away from the American Museum...More

there are three flours...in one of the floors you will learn about American history and native Americans; statues and explanation...one floor is dedicated to all birds so lovely...another one is made by students and professors also animals...it's nice to see...
