The rhum is good, our favorite is the coconut rhum we bought quite a few bottles to bring back home and share with family members. The gelateria makes yummy gelato and we had good eats in the restaurant part. We didn’t get to experience the rhum distillery tour but our host gave us flight samples and told us about the history which was good enough for us! Had a great time!

We went on the 11 am tour with Jimmy. He has a great delivery and is quite knowledgeable about the rum process. He shared small details we never would have even thought of in the rum making process and the amount of historical information he shared was interesting. His delivery and approach was excellent.

The rhum (yes this is how they spell it) was amazing. Word of caution, we drove ourselves there and I had to stop tasting the rhum (while I didn’t want to, I had to 😬).

If your looking for something to do we highly suggest you do this tour. We are currently writing this from Toppers Restaurant....that review will be up shortly (15% discount at the restaurant).

Great start to the day.

I didn't actually take the "tour" of this place. I just wanted to taste their rum. I think it cost me $10 to taste them all. A couple of good foundation rums, and then many more flavored rums that spring off from those. I was given a person tour of their rums by a very knowledgeable young lady working there. After tasting them all..! I decided on two bottles.. I thought the price for the rum was not particularity cheap, but a fair price. This was a good stop.. check it out.

Want to know how Topper's rhum (voted #1 in the caribbean 2nd year in a row) is made? A concise tour of how and where it is made. Explanations of everything along with free samples. You can also bottle your own or buy it already bottled. Don't forget to buy a rhum cake also hand made at the distillery. This is a great 1 hour outing and not to be missed. Also included in the tour is a discount to Topper's restaurant. A fabulous restaurant.

Great tasting Experience!! Tia was delightful, smiling and very knowledgeable about her rhum. We got to meet Mr Topper himself, Mrs Topper and creator of the flavored rhum and the daughters. Had a wonderfully cook meal at lunch in the restaurants new location while enjoying a cool breeze and beautiful views. Everyone here is smiling and really appears to love the people they work for!! Great job

Had a great time during the tour and Cristina, without the H, was a great tour guide. The distillation process was fascinating and the end product was delicious, not only did we learn about the making of rhum we learned an amazing chicken dish to try at home! The "St. Maarten Punch" was the best...got the hat to prove it!

Thanks Cristina, without the H!

Wonderful and pleasant visit of a real, hand made Rhum distillery. Open bar on the samples and lots of information about them and their products were offered. Good, friendly staff. Very well done!

Didn’t book a tour, just showed up and did a $10 tasting. I was pleasantly surprised with how much rum they let you taste - we tried about 16 different flavours. The rum was great, I wish I could have brought back a bottle of each!

They also serve gelato. The amaretto flavour was excellent.

I visit this Distillery every time I am St. Maarten. If never disappoints. It moved to new fancy location, definitely an upgrade and now they also sell Gelatos.

You do a lot of tasting and they have new flavors. It more than worth the cost. Don't miss it. It now located in what was the Carousel.

I am a big alcohol fan - always like to see the process of how it is made, etc. Not a big drinker though.

Always love a tour of a facility. Any facility. The fun is seeing the process. We signed up at our hotel for the tour. We were charged $25.00 a person.

The place is located in a small industrial park. There is very little signage to find the place. We were staying on the island and on our own. Obviously if you are with a tour group, they will find the place. If not, it is a little tricky.

We arrived and were provided a small plastic cup of rum punch. We arrived on time. However, some tour group ahead of us was not on time and therefore we had to wait in the hot production line area.

When the group ahead left, we entered the small church like room. We had a nice lady give us a lecture about the history of rum and the history of the Toppers. While they had a "still" in room, she did not talk one bit about how it operates. The room was hot and I was sweating.

On the wall were all different types of rum flavors. That was the tease. Many are just test runs on flavors. In the end, you got two very small samples of rum. One of her choosing and one of your own.

You leave the room and are then in the production area where you see them bottling the rum. Very basic. They then give you unlimited small samples of their 6 mass produced rums.

They then have a wall with taps which has about ten other small production flavors. They will let you sample as many as you like. The samples are controlled by one of the employees.

We actually met the owner. She was very nice and talked to us about the new barrel aged rums they are working on.

HERE LIES THE ISSUE. THE TOUR LADY SAID THEY MAKE THE RUM OFF SITE. THE OWNER SAID THEY MAKE IT IN BACK BUT FOR INSURANCE REASONS CANNOT LET PEOPLE BACK THERE. I SUSPECT THAT THE RUM IS MADE OFF SITE AND THEY SIMPLY BOTTLE IT.

Within the production room is the gift shop. They double as one in the same. They ran out of 1 Liter bottles of the coconut rum. The clothing was quite expensive.

I loved the coconut rum. I would highly recommend this rum. I also bought the rum cake and the salted caramel rum. All very good.

My issues is with the tour. Quite honestly, I would visit to buy the rum and gifts!! I would never recommend to anyone to pay for the tour!! It is a joke. How they call that a tour and charge money is unbelievable.

At the very least, if you offered some type of rebate or discount when buying items, I would be less offended. But to flat out charge $25 for a lecture on the history of rum...in a hot sweaty room....NO THANKS!!!
